It's kinda hard to explain, at one point you're really high off the ground and then there is a cliff and the ground is just a few feet below your feet, my skis were able to touch the tops of some branches there. The first couple times I thought that the quad sped up but then I realized it was an illusion because of the ground coming up so fast. I was alone so I was just watching the ground go by while I was riding the lift, you probably wouldn't notice it if you were talking to somebody.

So I don't totally derail the thread, my calfs and thighs are hurting.

Hell Yeah..I know what you mean and that sort of stuff makes everyday life so much cooler..lately I try to look really far in the horizon and I see things I haven't seen before from places I have been numerous times. I'm just becoming a more perceptive GSS..

High Speed lifts just rock so much..At Hunter I feel like I spent as much time on the trail as riding the lift..that's a nice thing..usually I'm on the lift 2-3 times more than on the trail..I like timing things..lol

I'm hoping to take my skiing to the next level this year with more skiing after work so it should all work out in the end

Pre-season workouts is the only way to avoid the lactic acid buildup that can cause pain thaqt can last for days. Last weekend was my first of the season and this was the first year I had absolutely no pain in the legs. Probably due to the last 2 month's workouts. Lots of squats with weights, many pulsing squats up to the point of fatigue. I followed a few of my wifes DVDs- these hour long workouts killed for the first few weeks but they sure did help the quads. These workouts use low weights but high reps. I think I lost 5-10 lbs too.

That's good. High rep, low weight approximates the intensity of skiing.
