You find the best part of the mountain for you on a given day, best bumps, great trees, softest conditions, best grooming, best challenge, whatever’s your thing. Will you stay there for most of the day or will you ski other trails/glades/bowls/slack country even though those places are not as much to your liking.

I’d be all over anyway after I had my fill of the best part.

I tend to stick to the good stuff and lap it(as long as the masses aren't there), and then move on once the masses have found it, since usually if there's good stuff on one part of the mountain they'll be good stuff elsewhere, its just a matter of knowing the mountain and knowing where to look for it

Yes.

New mountains I tend to explore, but if you find a great run sometimes you just have to go back a few times.

If I'm at my home mtn I am lapping whatever they have bumped up. If I am at a new mtn or one that I get to rarely I like to mix it up.

I split it up. I'll lap for a while, explore/roam, come back and lap some more, wash, rinse, repeat.

At the home digs I tend to ski all runs the first part of the day then lap the bumps after that. I'll explore more on the road but if I find a good mogul field or glade I'll lap them a couple of times too.

+1 here. Get my fill on the good stuff for a bit, build confidence, then get more adventurous and ski something a bit tough. Then back for more.

it depends on the day..at Blue mountain I have skied the same run all day because it was so good..I didn't want to ski anything else..at Jackson Hole I sometimes lap the same run a few times but usually keep skiing different terrain..

I ski where the surface is the best. If I find something really nice, I'll stick to it. Particularly with tree skiing, doing laps doesn't matter so much since you take a different line every time.

The past couple seasons, I've been all over as I've skied at multiple different places for just 1 day, which was often a first time visit or first in a long time, so I wanted to experience the full mountain.

This season, most likely I'll be a lapper at Ragged, all over when I venture to other areas.

Yes, it depends where I am skiing. If I'm somewhere I haven't been or don't know well, I'm more apt to move around and explore. However, even if at somewhere new and I find something sweet, I'll have no problems lapping it.

When I'm at someplace I know well, I'll lap it since I know what the rest of the Mtn is skiing like since I know it so well.

Depends on location. At Sundown, there's usually only one trail worth spending time on. When elsewhere, I'll move around, but I'm also content lapping a trail or pod if it's skiing well.

More often than not, I'll ski a few runs off of one lift and then move on to another pod. After sampling several areas (assuming I'm on a mountain that has "several areas"), I'll migrate back to trails I liked on the first sampling.

I'm more of a lapper if I find conditions I like. If I'm at a new mountain I like to mix it up and explore a bit though.

I ski regularly at Sugarbush where the trails/lift layout lends itself to doing a few laps of an area before moving on. Because I am so familiar with the mountain I usually find myself in a good area given the day and conditions and exploit that area before moving on.

a bit of both...usually move around but we'll make laps if we find something that's better than the norm...been known to make 6-7 laps on white heat when its really good...then beat feet when the masses invade.
