Long and Winding Trail

It’s gotta be both, tell us where it is and what you think of it.

At WF it’s Excelsior. It’s the only blue trail off the summit of little Whiteface, so seeing as a lot of people of blue or less ability want to ride the gondi, the trail can get crowded.

I like to ski it real early and bomb it, leaning into it’s many turns.

Kickapoo at Elk Mountain. A long, winding blue cruiser that you can just let the skis run wide open on.

Juggernaut at K. That trail never ever ever ends...........and is wayyyyy too flat, I wouldn't be suprised if that trail was built on a parking lot.....

Indeed! Upper Jester is one of the best cruisers I've skied. Lower Jester is not as good with all the trail merges, but running a T2B on Jester is loads of fun.

Upper Jester is nice. Lower Antelope at MRG. I'd figure Lower FIS at Mt. Ellen, but I've never skied it. Twister at Gore.

Juggernaut at Killington...it's 7 miles long (I think), very flat, and involves crossing roads as well. I kind of like it, very removed from the rest of K, I typically ski it about once a year, as long as it hasn't snowed recently, there isn't too much walking involved.

Yup, Lower FIS definitely fits. Also at Mt. Ellen: Walt's Trails and Semi-Tough.

That hairpin is awesome as long as you don't get stuck behind a group of slower skiers.

The wife and were running out of time one day and we figured we would take Juggernaut because it would be nice and long. When you factor in all of the flats and use of polls it was a nightmare. Don't get me wrong, the trail is quiet and the scenery is nice. We just had no idea what we were getting into. Yes, we even read the sign at the trail head.

I'll second that. Solid blue from the top and green at the bottom with enough turns and a couple headwalls to keep it interesting.

I like Saco into Northwest Passage and ultimately over to the Abenaki lift at Bear Peak.

When I posted this in 2007 The Wilmington Trail didn't exist at WF. It's almost 2 1/2 miles and it is constantly turning. It's also a blue, but a dark blue in several sections. It's on the new Lookout Mt. expansion. You can't see the main ski area while skiing it so it has a lone trail feel to it. The views are beautiful. I like it.

My son and I were at Smuggs at the end of the day and skied Chilcoot->Ruthies->Curley's Cutback->Meadowlark to get back to the lower mountain and our car. Now that was a long run.
