I have lots of tools in my ski tuning sharpen, or file the base edges. Usually at the beginning of the season I get the base done at my local ski shop, then I do my own waxing and side edge sharpening, I usually haven't had to worry about the base edges.

My kids decided they wanted to use their rock skis for week day practice and there are a bunch of burrs on the base edges that need filing

Any recommendations for a tool?

Also, the side edges are at 3 degrees (93), any idea what the base edge angle would typically be?

Thanks!

The only company I know that uses a 3 degree bevel is atomic. The base would be 1 degree in that case.

I use a Swix T-2000 base and edge tuner. They don't make it anymore but the T-3000 is what replaced it. Both units can cut edges and bases from 0-6 degrees.
