Looks like another day to be "sick" this week Thursday the 13th. Who's in?

I'm feeling absolutely gross right now. Fever, congestion, aches and chills, the whole nine yards. Once I'm done teaching my 5:00 class I'm making a drug store run and then holing up at home until this blows over. Hopefully I'm well enough to venture out when the bluebird comes.

Verbatim to GFS, at least 7" in Vermont from Monday to Tuesday, which I'm sure is what you're talking about since 90% of people for whatever reason seem to use that POS model.

However, there is a chance for some really nice snowfall Saturday per the Canadian (below), which has been a MUCH better model than the US Government's model this winter. I'm sure that would squeeze out at least 5 or 6 inches, and the only reason nobody is talking about this possibility is because there's a massive storm on the doorstep. Like the cute girl being ignored while standing next to the Victoria's Secret model. FWIW, the GFS has clear skies and lovely weather in Vermont on Saturday.

Wednesday and Thursday are my two days off this week. I'm hoping I can get up to NH tomorrow. I might be lazy and head up to Wachusett, hell, even a powder day at Wachusett is good enough for me. I gotta figure something out. All I know is I have to work Fri-Mon. I gotta ask for days off when there is a storm. I'm hoping winter lasts as long as possible.

It sounds like the B word might be in affect for Thursday. It sounds like Friday might be the better day since it might be starting during the day Thurs?

Have you been to Sunapee, C-Rex? It's really an intermediate mountain with a pitch similar to Mt. Snow. It doesn't seem like it would be a great place to spend a powder day to me (flame away you Sunapee homers! ;) ). I will probably ski at Pats. It's small, but the top of the mountain is steep enough for fun powder skiing!

FLAME!!! FLAME!! Just Kidding dude. Sunapee is terrible on powder days. ;)

I'm always off Thursdays and Fridays but I'm looking at some windy conditions for Thursday. Friday looks bluebird, almost springlike in the mid 30s. I was thinking of going to Camelback because it's so close but I'm wondering if the crowds would be less at Belleayre and worth the extra driving. Platty is almost 4 hours away..Ouch.

Decision, decisions but I'll be going somewhere, that's for sure..

Platty is 20 minutes past Bell. Platty has no high speed chairs but I never heard of wind hold at Platty. You have powder shots all morning for sure on a Friday.

If all goes as plan and driving conditions aren't terrible in the AM, probably hitting Magic on Friday.

Berkshire East all by my lonesome Saturday, I think.

This should be an awesome day. They look to be the bullseye for this storm based on the projected snowfall maps. I bet all the glades are in play. It's a bit out of range for a day trip for me Friday...

For you S. CT / NYC types, if you were gonna day trip Friday for a powder day, would you go for:

Mohawk - haven't been since I was a kid, have a voucher to burn. 2.25 hrs.
Sundown - never been. 56 bucks (pricey). 2.5 hrs.
Catamount - been a couple times, haven't scoped the trees here but looks like the middle of the mountain could have some nice lines. 30 bucks mid-week and two hours flat.

EDIT: BOGO at Catamount Friday, that probably makes the decision for me: https://www.facebook.com/CatamountSkiArea

Anyone want to comment on the tree skiing at any of the above?

sundown doesn't have any "approved" tree skiing, but rumor has it that such a thing exists there. unfortunately, i will be there early and tracking out as much pow as i can. night skiing goes until 10, but if the storm keeps cranking after that, friday morning could be great too.
