Temperatures in the 30's with lots of sunshine!

Both Base Lodges were open and top to bottom skiing with the Gondola, Kangamagus Quad, East Basin Double and the North Peak Express open and serving mountain visitors.

The Summit Cafe was open with Jamaican Specials being cheerfully served.

I rode up the Gondola with ski patrol fellows who said today's crowd was about half of Saturday...

The whole mountain had snow on every trail and I thought the conditions were very good on the trails that were open. If the weather says cold I believe this place is going to open right up for the Christmas week crowds.

I was tickled how good the conditions were for my first day out this season.

Well Sunday sounds better than Sat. It became top to bottom when they opened Brookway to the bottom just before 11. The West side was only open for the handle tow beginner lift. Lodge was open. Skied with Moose. Fun time. Sorry to piggy back your thread.


They did a decent job getting stuff open Sat. Got scratched off very quicky. Upper picked was icy on the drop off early. We stayed on flying fox. Less people a little better snow. I went over to Governors to see what was up. The bar(babes) has been moved to the wall facing the brook. Less seats much smaller. Looks like they were just looking to put more tables in. Can't see the TV's hardly at all from the bar know.

I skied Waterville on Sunday, much better snow less people. 100% better conditions than Sat at Loon. I think the elevation gave them the advantage.

Sounds like you did it right Charlie. I'll be at Loon Sat and Sunday's and Holiday's for a while know. See you there. Loon will be fine.
