Too much :argue: need more :spread:

Yup, the cover at Loon does look a bit thin...but considering how :puke: for skiing the weather's been I'm impressed. Does not take away from what any other ski area has or has not done so far.

K vs loon, who knew.. :snow: Since I left, I see Bear comes on line before other trails.

The River has Cascades, and Right Stuff ready to go from what it looked like to me. Risky business has to be close, South ridge should have two trails soon as well. 300 guns going currently. Jungle road will tie Barker into Locke and xtc is getting snow too. Pretty impressive.

Great to see this at all places.

Sunday the rope dropped on lower Sunday punch to give official top to bottom. I heard people have been doing that for 3 weeks.:p

With Upper Picked Rock open and fewer people, I'd give Loon the edge for better terrain offerings. Whether the thin coverage is an issue is up to folks to decide for themselves. Too bad Loon didn't try to go even earlier... though they don't have the super high elevation small terrain pod, that double starts pretty low and covers a lot of mileage in the round about.

Are they saving them for the holiday?

Agreed. They went from nothing to more miles than a resort that's been open for almost a month in two days. Pretty darn impressive. They also lift ticket prices for tomorrow. Does that mean more terrain?

Good stuff, Upper/Lower Walking Boss, Sunset shaping up well, T2B via Seven Brothers, sunny skies on MGR snow for the most part. Last night and tonight 260 guns will be firing away!

Now with the snow moving in tonight through tomorrow, this will be a FANTASTIC Thanksgiving ski weekend!

Saving, More base building for the weekend. I think we will get quite a bit more soon.

Terrible practice! Also, did I see them refer to conditions as "man made powder" today, or did I imagine that?

Anybody up for a carpool this weekend?=)

Yes. I'm planning on hitting up Loon or Cannon on Friday, and then open to a trip to wherever on Saturday or Sunday.

I think it was a good choice here. they need a big base for this weekend.. Many of the guns were in the middle of the trail. I have no issue with this. All guns pulled. Snow getting a night to cure and get groomed and tomorrow a bunch more comes on line.

I have never been to Loon Mountain before although it is one of the most accessible ski resorts in New England.

I consider myself as an intermediate skier and I've heard that Loon Mountain doesn't have any runs that will take my skills to the new level which is elaborated in this ski resort review: http://www.mountainyahoos.com/SkiResorts/LoonMountain.html

However, many consider Loon Mountain Park is the largest terrain park and is know for its 450 foot 18 foot high Superpipe so I think it's still worth the visit

See you Saturday at Loon.

Go to North Peak and make laps on Flume or East Basin and hit Angel Street or Triple Trouble or Ripsaw on South Peak. Stay off the blue runs on the front side. Loon won't have runs to scare you but, if you want to hit trails to improve your game, you can find them.

If you are an intermediate Loon has plenty to take you the next level. Skiing tougher terrain is not the answer. Perfect your technique on the Easy terrain first if you are looking to improve.
