Drove up 100 from Mt Snow Friday night between 5 and 6 pm. Very treacherous. Many cars off the road. Stopped at Jakes in Londonderry for a fine dinner as we watched another inch of snow fall! Pulled into the Magic View at 7:00. Great place to stay if in the area. Got a real good deal on a room with a double, twin, and set of bunks on MLK Friday! Includes a nice Continental breakfast! Thanks Barbara.
Was at Magic early for the Red Chair dedication.
Great job team Save Magic, especially Rusty Groomer. Skied the first four runs with The Save Magic Crew led by Rusty and Mr. Gondola. They’re crazy and a blast to ski with.
As for the skiing. Awesome! Boot deep all day! Need a couple tune-ups, but well worth sacrificing the skis. Really could use one more storm before you can relax and really charge the hill. Close though. Next time it snows, hit it……………………..

nobody here early.................

Jim Sullivan during the ceremony:

chair dedication sign #2 in the lodge. The proud papa. Can't wait til' the granddaughter sees it!

the signs at Magic don't lie...................

chair looking good!

weedwhacking......

afternoon turned out nice, not much wind today either!

very nice as a matter of fact..........

I should have added that the vibe at Magic was incredible Saturday. Tons of kids and familys. Lodge was jammin'. And the snowmaking trails had plenty of snow, no chance of damaging the skis.Perfect weekend for the snow! I'm sure Guy will have an epic video from this weekend. Love Magic! Happy 50th!

Also at Magic on Saturday. Nice report Reefer. Our first time skiing Magic actually. Love the vibe and can't wait to get back once everything is open. Ventured off Trick/Show Off a few times. Up Your Sleeve and Kinderspiel were decent but could use a bit more coverage, Medium was pretty rough IMHO but ski at your own risk is fine with me...another foot will set this up nicely.
Didn't venture to the West side as I would have been alone and didn't want to chance it. (wife stuck to the snowmaking trails)

Great $4 draft selection in the BLBP as well!

quick question: Is Redline skiable when everything fills in from the top? Noticed the orange Sobe drink banner at the top steepest section at the top and bottom so wasn;t sure if ppl ski that section? The exposed snowmaking pipe at the bottom of that section looks like it could end a good day quickly if you weren't careful

We'll be back up on 1/28. Really cool place.

Glad you enjoyed. Definitely could use more snow. At least its a start.
Redline starts where Witch crosses over to Black Line at the Sobe sign. Lift is too low to the ground higher than that.
I was shocked myself at the $4.00 drafts, went down a lot easier.....................

Thanks for Driving Reefer!

I had forgotten about all of the cars in the ditch on Fri eve on Rt 100. I'm just glad we had the Xterra and made it there in one piece!

Dinner at Jakes was great and highly recommend the Homemade Mac n Cheese with Sausage. The room at the Magic View was nice and clean with such a short drive to the mountain....cheap rate too!

The Vibe on the mountain at Magic is the best...sorry Jim, but I was happy to see no crowds on a powder day... No lift lines and many empty chairs all day long. You just can't beat front row parking, cheap lift tix, cheap beer, no lift lines, and great people...all on a powder day!

It's always great to see the Save Magic crew and share some runs wherever they may go. Can't wait to go back again soon! Cape Day is always a blast, nice time to break out the Wizard hat.

be sure to notify me of your future plans regarding magic. I want to see the look on your face when you see how crazy it can be.

I skied there a few times in high school on bad days, but never caught it with prime conditions. Even at that I loved it. But I haven't been in 20 years and that's just stupid considering what I like to ski.

Does Jim ski? I've never seen or heard of him being out there.

Jim is an excellent skier. He certainly doesnt get out as often as he would like but I ahve seem him on the hill with his kids often enough and occasionally I ahve run into him in the woods.

Reefer - Glad you made it up Saturday. Sorry I missed you at the ceremony but it was a good day for sure. Catch you nexst time.

Things are holding up pretty well. I'm heading out in a few to get some laps in.

Xwhaler glad you liked it and look forward to making some turns with you next time.

What do you like to ski? I see all the love here and other places for Magic...guess I gotta make the trek one of these days. (I have never been).
