Conditions: Pow over hardpack, some over groomed. Great shape overall. Pow turns were easy to come by all day, you just had to look a little harder later on ;)

Arrived about 5 til 8 to a full lot one. Got over the shock once I realized it was almost entirely racers, although their parents get some fun runs in on the side. Black line got tracked incredibly quick on the ride up.

Skied single for the first few runs. Off the bat hit a few out of the way favorites on the west side.

Then moved over to Red Line:

Met up with some friends and it started to snow:

We hit some more trees. Boot or so deep, deeper in places. Found a few new stashes today.

The old liftline was in good shape, although I did catch a small stump.

Overall a stellar day at Magic, maybe the best I've had. A lot of the traffic was contained to the east side for racing, leaving the west open for the taking. Magician and Hans were closed, although they both got hit a few times. I was a bit disappointed by Hans being closed, as it was listed as open on the website. Maybe it was "reserved". The trees really opened up to us today, we hit a few shots multiple times, traversing for the fresh stuff. I had a huge grin on my face all day.

The mountain should still be in good shape in the days to come, flurries arrived just as the lift closed. As billski said in the other thread, 4" day after day adds up!

Roark,

Definitely a killer day. I'm lovin' the "rocking the sumos" pic!! I'm in full attack mode :) The woods were sick everywhere, can't wait to hit them again soon!!! I wish my training wasn't happening tomorrow, or I would be up there in the afternoon. That squall at 4 was interesting huh? Made for some fun driving home!

Nice pics, I wish I had some time to take some too!

Bummer you couldn't get out more, but it's still pretty great you two can make it work with the kid and still get some turns in! I was glad to see you there, would never have done as much exploring on my own.

You made turning those monsters look pretty easy, you would have killed me with your fresh legs the last few runs.

Drive was sloooooow.

yah! pics disappeared!

We both got in 5 SAWEEET runs today, not bad for getting there at 10, forgetting the diaper bag, having to run into town to get the "supplies" and having a 4 month old to take turns watching in the lodge!!!

And yes, the sumos are MONSTERS. They worked me pretty good today, could definitely have used some T1 race boots rather than the relatively soft T2's that I have... thanks for exploring with us, twas splendid!

Oh, and my legs are always fresh:) (yah, I'm cocky, I know)

yup. fixed!

Did you and ES hit the green chair liftline again? It was sweet that one time we all hit it!

Dave

Yup. Last run. Passed on the single track on the way, after a couple runs it got a bit fast to be shwackin along.

Caught a 2 inch stump poking out on the green line last run and somersaulted nicely. :spin: Had a lot of funny little falls like that today.
