This is unfortunate and pretty effin lame. You should try to get the admin/mods on board to take control of it. That would never happen here.

Pretty difficult to do when said member(s) just make new names as soon as an old one is banned.

Can't you just block the IP address?

Yep, but there are ways around it, and often times users' IPs aren't static so they eventually get a new one. Member/IP banning, in conjunction with being able to identify aliases (this may be as basic as picking up on a posting style or common theme) is pretty effective.

You mean something as >>>Complex<<< as absurd use of punctuation?

Kidding aside, there have been some serious issues with some individual(s) and it may very well come out that it extends far beyond bad mouthing on internet forums. Let's hear it for more snow and good skiing at MAgic!

Sorry everyone, it has been quite busy and interesting at Magic the past two weeks. Unfortunately most of my internet time has been spent monitoring another skiing forum that has been the unfortunate host of some members (or should I say multiple aliases) with a bone to pick with Magic. Anyway, I need to finish the Alpine Update so I will keep this short.

We plan to open with Upper Magic Carpet, Medium, Wand and Show Off. We will open other trails very liberally if we happen to pick up any significant snow on Friday. Unfortunately the snow on Monday wasn't as much as expected and it was very light. It fell on top of bare ground and/or a rock solid base so anything ungroomed still isn't safe. The snowmaking crew has been telling stories of death defying (well maybe not that bad) slips and slides on the ice under the new snow.

Trails slated to get the snowmaking treatment next are Trick, Hocus Pocus, Lower Magic Carpet and then on to the West Side.

The open trails on Saturday will be very, very nice corduroy. While we won't have a plethora of trails open for the weekend, it will be a great relaxing weekend away from the crowds. Come on by and make some turns, relax in the lodge and catch some football (go GIANTS). We have events both Saturday (3-6) and Sunday (7:30-midnight) nights too.

We hope to see you soon.

Good luck with the trolls and the snow. I plan to give Magic a try this year. A few candid updates like this are worth a lot and reflect well on your organization.
