cool down dmc, you took the comment all wrong, I don't think you ride up the lift with your board in your arms, even a dim witted skier like me got his point.

If you invest with TD, you too will end up a job as a ski/board valet for $1.280 an hour :D

I think you're right, it's not a dig on riders. Its about getting a job as a ski/board valet. Look at the way the lady is holding that board.... just like she was holding a baby. I would want valet service like that.

First of all I'm not filled with hate... I just don't put up with random crap.
90% of my posts are positive - check it... And many of the people I "go after" illicite comments - like "about time someone called them out" from the friends I've made here in the I guess close to a decade of posting now...

Secondly - he made this comment
I was skiing at Hunter on Tuesday. I don't remember seeing any snowboarders riding the Hunter chair lifts like these two.
I didn't hear anything about people carrying their boards on a lift there... Or the fact that most people with good jobs ride on the weekends. All I heard was "like these two" - meaning well dressed - non park rat snow riders... No comments about them carrying boards as you all want me to hear..

Yeah maybe i thought too much into it Greg but I've worked hard to be where I am professionally.
I've been snowboarding since the late 80's and was part of building this sport into what it is today.. And I didn't do it by letting people slip little veiled blasts into the conversation..

I will always call people out on this kind of stuff... If you are going to do something like that choose your words wisely.. Because I'm here... And won't stand idly by...

It's what I do...

I see the worst in people... I see the best in people...

I see people... You just happened to show me your worst...

It's about retiring and riding instead of working because your portfolio kicks ass...

I look forward to that day as well...

Like I said Bad Day or something! Of course he did not see anyone riding the lift like those two at Hunter, cause they left their Boards on their Foot! You are attacking someone cause you obviously have issues going on or something!

And the point of the add is that if you get a good portfolio you can retire and ride the rest of your life! If anything skiers should be pissed for being discriminated against since they cannot get a good portfolio and retire only Boarders!

So lighten up dude, and go ride!

Well maybe I am wrong then, no offense to you, but if you have a history with the guy, then let it go! Cause until you started no one else was seeing what you were seeing. And if Catskills has an issue with boarders then he has issues too!

Others agreed... They just don't speak up like I do...

It's cool.... Said what i needed to..

Another day... suns out... Going to mix it up and tele today.. Or maybe carry my board on my lap up the lift...

btw.... I have been in situations where you have to carry your board on your lap.. When there's no ski off the lift.. just sayin... :)

I picture them wanting to show the "big retired boomer smiling face" in the picture. That was most important. Secondary was the desire to show that these hip, with it, ready to be retirees were not just run of the mill skiers, but snowboarders(OMG!!!). The shit eating grins wouldn't show in the picture if it was zoomed out enough to see the boards attatched to their feet. So the photographer or the marketing dude suggested that they carry them. And 97% of the people who look at the ad won't notice the ridiculousness.

I see an advertising designer who's clueless about how lifts are rode. They could have just as well put skis where the snowboards are. really would make no difference.

that's how I see it. Not saying someone shouldn't be offended by the image. Bad idea to tell someone how they should feel.
