I'll be skiing at Snowbasin and Powder Mtn. It'll be a nice change from what we've had to deal with here at home! If I were home though, I'd probably be hitting up Hunter for a day trip.

Here are my NH options where I have pre-paid passes:
  • Pats Peak
  • Crotched
  • Sunapee
  • Waterville
  • Loon
I'm sure they will all be crowded...any suggestions?

My season's off to an almost non-existent start, so I'm going somewhere unless the whole weekend is like it is today.:-x:-x

I have reservations at Killington for 3 days that weekend. There is a chance I will move that reservation to superbowl weekend Feb 4th depending on the weather. If that happens I very well could be at Jiminy or snow.

MLK Day Crowds

I've found MLK Day itself not to be any more crowded than a typical weekend day. The Sunday of MLK Day weekend though is usually BRUTAL!

I might make it up to Hunter for MLK. How bad is Hunter on a typical weekend day? Is it like Kmart on a weekend or worse? 5-10 minutes in lift line?

I usually ski K MLK weekend and really have never had an issue with the crowds. Sounds crazy but its the truth. Now if they only have 80 or so trail open this MLK weekend it will be a zoo with the limited amount open.

My pass is blacked out and I really am not in the mood to spend too much money unless the conditions greatly improve which at this point looks doubtful. I would rather conserve my money for my Colorado trip in February.

I will probably be at Loon, maybe Waterville depending on conditions. I've been trying to get to Waterville this year but haven't. Loon has been pretty good the last few weeks so I'll watch the weather and conditions.

Either Cannon or Wildcat the Sunday of MLK weekend. Wildcat might have a few more people with the $20 deal. If I am feeling adventitious than it might be Sugar Bush, that will also depend on if Slide Brook is running.

Looks like it will be Sugarbush on Saturday of MLK. Got one of those Sugar Cards for free and I just might use them. Hope the "big chill" predicted for January happens at around MLK so we get some winter weather for a change.

MLK Monday I think I'm heading to Oh Canada with some friends. Sutton? Owls Head? Bromont? Who knows yet. We'll likely decide last minute. If we don't head up there, it'll be something local - Sugarbush, MRG, Bolton, or maybe even a trip over to Burke.

I'll be at Mt. Snow

My how things change. We were supposed to go up for MLK weekend to celebrate my friends 30th. His wife just cancelled due to the long term forecast. But overall I think its for the better. That weekend is crazy with crowds and the lodging is overpriced.

Now, where do a do a day trip to that weekend....

Monday will be the best of the three days most anywhere if you can only do one of the days. Saturday will probably be a typical Saturday at most of the local hills (i.e. not a destination resort), and Sunday will be a zoo at most places.

I think it was MLK Sunday two years ago when I wnet to the Cat. Sure there was a line...but 1) it moved quickly and 2) the singles line moved VERY quickly.

I might have to re-visit the Cat that weekend with the fam.

I'll be at Whiteface with my friends from Friday to Monday. Once you get above the base, it's never a more then a minute spent in a liftline, regardless of holiday/weekend/etc. Remaining vertical of 2400" is enough for me :daffy:

I always thought that it's the Saturday the most crowded day, Sunday crowd is lighter.
