Resort: Mount Snow
Date Skied: 02/06/05
Conditions: 40 degrees or warmer, lots of sun, no wind 10+++ day!
Trip Report:
Today Mount Snow was offering a 8am to 1pm ticket for $55. I was talked in to going so I went.
The first run was the Canyon off of the Canyon Express. Although lines grew, the lifties corraled groups of 4 in an efficient manner. First tracks was down on freshly groomed snow. As the skier traffic increased the hard surfaces started to show.
We the took the Grand Summit Express up and did a couple of top to bottom runs (Exhibition and Ledge and Lodge). The lines grew at this lift so one run we took the Summit Local triple to the summit. There was no line.
We did a run at Sunbrook, where the snow was starting to soften up. The bumps were great at Beartrap. The Beartrap and Sunbrook lifts had no lines.
After Beartrap we worked over to Northface where we found the best skiing for the remainder of our time there. We would alternate between the two triple lifts to do Challenger, Fallen Timbers and Free Fall. We saw Ripcord from below which was open and bumped up. The snow was great on Northface.
For the last run we headed back to Sunbrook to do Beartrap. The snow was like mashed potatoes on a trip down. It felt like an April day over there. All in all it was an awesome day!
My only regret with Mount Snow is the fact that I did not buy the Bronze pass. I loved the place and will go back even at $68.
