Just on my way home from Mt .Snow. We got a somewhat late start as we stopped at Dot's for breakfast on the way up. On the chair by 10 or so. Conditions were REALLY good. Soft snow everywhere. We skied all over the mountain, perhaps the only bad run was down to the Sunbrook area, there were huge patches of slow snow, you'd get cranking and it was like someone threw on the brakes.
North Face was awesome ROTD was Fallen Timbers, musta hit that one 5 or 6 times easy. Sun was out most of the day, very warm, we both switched to lighter clothing around noon time.
That snow was heavy, maybe last night's ride had something to do with it, but by 2:00 I needed a break, we ate some lunch outside in the warm sunshine.
After lunch the dark clouds rolled in like some kind of stop action thing on high speed and by 3:00 it was raining lightly. We decided that we were done and left the mountain a little after the rain started. If it was earlier in the season and my legs weren't shot, maybe I'd have pushed to ski in the rain. I was perfectly happy to call it a day (and likely a season).
A guy on the lift said Snow was hoping to make Easter, I dunno about that. I guess there's a lot of snow, but there's also a lot of bare spots and slush (that used to be ice).
John.
