I'll be there tomorrow and the wife is staying home this weekend so I'll be skiing alone. Yeh more runs :)
GrilledSteeze- Tell me what you look like and what you'll be wearing and I'll keep an eye out for ya.

Black Giro Fuse Helmet..beige and black heli-hanson jacket..black pants..blue Oakley A-frames..White Rossi Scratch twin tips..I'll be skiing with a guy on Atomic Race skis who'll be in a gray jacket with Black pants..he's impossible to miss because he carves huge deep trenches and swoops down the trail like Batman..I'm sure I'll run into some AZs up there..

I'm pretty jealous of you guys... those pictures of Canyon are AWESOME... I wish I could go...

I'm stuck teaching little kids fencing classes all weekend.

Not sure if you're just being facetious here, Carrie, but please don't be intimidated by all of our awesomeness (;)). Often times with large groups, we take 2 or 3 runs together and then smaller groups break off naturally based on ability. AZ outings range from lower intermediate to upper advanced/expert skiers. I doubt anyone would dare laugh and point with Big Brian looming over anyway... ;)
Nah, it's all good. I'm really more worried about skiing all day and then having to possibly go in to work. I'll get with you guys this season, I promise. :D

Since I won't be skiing Belleayre on Friday the 16th, I'm thinking I may make the 3 1/2 to 4 hour trek up to Mt. Snow for a day trip. I can't wait to ski and I was hoping for the Belleayre opening but because they're not opening this weekend they won't be open on Friday. So I think I'll take the long drive. The wife now is thinking of taking off work and pulling our 4 year old out of school for the day and I was wondering if anybody knows whether a bunny hill will be open for my son and if it's near the other parts of the mountain that should be open. I've never been there before so any advice would be appreciated.

My plan is to ski at Mount Snow on monday to avoid alot of the crowds and get some turns in on my birthday, which I have not skied on since November 12th 1995 at Jiminy Peak. It was quite a toss up between Mount Snow or Sugarloaf/Sunday River, but I will save those for Thanksgiving when more terrain is open.

Two answers: yes, Launch Pad at the Discovery Center will be open on Saturday. It's a small, gentle slope with a short chairlift for beginners. Also, our intention Saturday is opening for the season....that means every day.

I just got a call, they won't be opening until Sunday due to snowmaking difficulties. I guess they have been blowing hot water all day.

See ya SUNDAY

Good job to Randy

Mentioned about 7 years ago to ASSC to start putting in fans guns there. Gee. Banana belt areas have been using them for awhile. Gee. Hats off to the Boyds, Kelly and Randy's team to be able to Kick some butt. Mt. Snow is a gold mine. Wish i could be there. Enjoy folks. When you get the water watch out Stratton, Okemo and the k.

BTW, you guys need a prominent link to the blog from your Web site. I don't see one.

Look right above where the cam shot is. There's a list of tabs there for snow report, events, video, blog and parks/pipe.

I just put a cool aerial photo taken yesterday that someone sent us this morning. Luke's been out riding amongst the throngs of people here for opening day and should have some more photos and video up soon.

OBSERVATIONS FROM MOUNT SNOW ON 10/11:

So we're taking an early lunch break (I though my legs were in better shape). So here are some early observations (I'll post pictures when the chairs stop running):

1. If you look to the left or right, you would think it's fall at Mount Snow.
2. If you look straight ahead or if you're at the Summit, you would think it's the middle of February.
3. There is a ton of snow on Canyon/Standard trails . . . it's not just camera work.
4. The Fan Guns are very quiet and work very well.
5. The new bathrooms at the base lodge are very sparkly.
6. A 7:30 am arrival at lift 11 (Grand Summit Express) only got us 2nd chair. But our photo is on the Mount Snow's homepage (thanks Chris L.)

Back to the slopes now.
