Not if it's the top of Alta.

Eh, I've seen snowboarders riding Alta. Granted, it was closing day.

I've spent a lot of time in a Burton AK jacket and AK pants over the past couple of years, and I've been really impressed with them. My only major gripes are (a) the jacket is black, and (b) the pants don't have any reinforcement on the inside of the lower legs to protect them from ski edges. Of course, the AK line is a lot trimmer than the other lines...I think my Predatorwear pants may actually be more baggy.

Oh, and when I was at Alta, I did put my boots on before walking into the ticket office, just to make sure the Burton outerwear didn't raise too many eyebrows.

Actually, that brings up a question I've never asked, or had answered: what does a place that resticts snowboarders do when they catch somebody doing it at their area?

I reinforced my full sidezip Karbon pants in those places with patches of heavy duty nylon from an old gym bag I had. Why buy new pants when a little free material will do the trick? Just need to find someone that sews. If you don't know someone personally, any furniture upholsterer would probably do it pretty cheap.

MRG skiers don't care what you wear. Heck, I wear my one piece bogner suit there all the time! I even get some comments about how cool it is that I am reversing the typical MRG fashion trend of ripped and duct taped gear older than one season! The one thing I never got about MRG clientel though is what everyone is always laughing about. People always seem to be laughing about something or other after we pass by. Even though MRG skiers are accepting of gear as evidenced by my experiences, you gotta admit that how someone dresses says a lot about them personally and how well they can ski/ride. Especially the gapers who look good on the slopes. Skiers/Riders who look great with the latest fashions are always gapers with no skillz. Especially any one wearing loose or baggy clothes who should be confined to the park where they belong. Which thankfully isn't a problem at MRG.

I think they are all laughing because they're just really really high.
