More good news from the Mad River Valley:

A surprising 6"-9" plus fell overnight and that will enable us to open for the 2009-2010 season tomorrow! Now that's what we call a early Christmas present! We'll be cranking up both the Single and the Double at 10 AM on Saturday, (because we are opening so unexpectedly we are being forced to have a delayed opening) We'll make an exact call on which trails will be open in the morning. The"earn your turn" crowd is reporting astoundingly good skiing right now - hey what would you expect with all the snow we have been blessed with of late.

Mad River Glen to Open Tomorrow

The lifts will operate from 10 AM to 3:45 tomorrow and from 9 AM to 3:45 PM on Sunday. Regular weekend lift ticket rates will be in effect, Midweek and Value Passholders will be able to ski for $39 a day this weekend.

The snow is exceedingly light and fluffy right now and we expect to have a great deal of the main mountain terrain open. That being said the wind has begun to kick up a bit and that may change some things. Time will tell and we'll make a definitive call on open terrain in the morning.

In another thread last night I noted my local MA coastal 248' vert hill Ski Bradford plans to open Sunday and MRG wasn't projecting open until next Friday. Now all is again right with the world. :-D

Was really sick up there today. AWESOME ripping pow on trails normally all bumped up. Best run on Fall Line for me ever--just popping off rocks and landing in knee deep untracked. Place got tracked out pretty quickly but some untracked easily found every run.
