Skiing up at Killington next monday...Was planning on hitting MRG on tuesday and noticed the $3.50 lift ticket special. Anyone ever catch this deal in recent years? Just wondering what the crowd situation might be like.

Roll back day was my first, second and only days at MRG. This year I'll get back there again with a gift certificate present.

The first time, I was still a rookie skier and had the novice lift to myself the whole day. The double chair wasn't very busy either day... maybe 10 people deep at most. Last year the single chair was probably 5-10 minutes, but not bad.

I think with its mid-week placement and less than stellar start to winter, you should be fine--

Its been on my calendar for months, but I am not leaning towards going right now...

I try to go every year. Usually ots only crowded until lunch, unless it's really great snow. Good vibe the whole day though, brings out some woodchucks too :)

We're always bringing some sort of old equipment out..... you'll know it when you see us this year ;)

I'm pretty sure Rossignol never envisioned anyone mounting tele binders to their old classic Strato 102's!

Sniff, sniff, I threw my stratos away. My bud still has his circa 1968 stratos in the basement.

My quote from last year TR:
Hitting MRG on Roll Back the Clock days is pretty much annual thing since 2002, Lucky has been with me on every trips except the first one.
(...)
It got busy in the afternoon, as it would seem that some folks that only ski a couple days a year with vintage equipment were turning out. You don’t need to be hardcore to enjoy skiing for $3.50. I brought two pairs over the border, I used the oldest today, which I didn’t regret my choice except for that last turn on the bottom which is pretty much the only place on the mountain with fake snow and was siding with dull edges. The rest of MRG is as real as you can get. Real snow, no masking the good or bad of a ski season. Always fun.

Not sure I'll make it this due to a couple of annoying issues to take care of...have fun if you go.

You'd be surprised at what starving collegians will do for a cheap date

I was talking about that today with the CVS manager who likes to go skiing and he looks for deals just as much as I do. He asked me if there's a catch. But yes; I am making an honest effort to come as this is a good deal. And with me, I was better off when I was in college so deals become all the more important.
