Met up with Woodcore and Greg today for a nice ride through the woods. It was REALLY humid out there this morning and the bugs were a little heavy at times, but the trails were in really good shape and we had a good ride. I spent most of the time way in the back trying to keep up with woodcore and Greg, though I did have a pretty good stretch through Jug the second time. I finally made the bridges in the standard direction!

We rode from around 7am until just before 9, which worked out well for both Woodcore and Greg since they both had prior commitments to attend to. The mileage was around 6.5 miles I guess.

This morning probably was the most humid it has been all week. Good to see you guys get out for a ride while we all are at work!

Sound like you will have to start riding with me if you want to feel fast on the trails!

Humid is not the word. Man, that air was thick. I was sucking wind up Hinman and was all over the place on he 69er, but finally pulled it together through the cemetery and then the Jug. Brian was right on my tail through the Jug and I think I was pushing it pretty hard in there. I wussed on that skinny bridge and Brian tackled it without hesitation. Nice and smooth. Trails are rolling great. My GPS got 6.8 miles. Great way to kickstart the day.

Yes, it was definitely the most humid I've seen in a while. I was saying to Woodcore after the ride that I thought I sweated just about as much on my ride yesterday, but after almost instantly sweating through the new shirt I put on after the ride I'd have to say that I sweated quite a bit more today. Felt really good through Jug, right up until just after the bridges where I started to drop off a bit. One of those rare times where I was feeling the terrain and had the energy to make use of it. I need to work on my bike handling skills as well as endurance so that I can ride like that over more terrain more often.

I was surprised you guys were able to ride. When I left the house around 5:10AM I couldn't believe how thick the air was. Truck said it was 79* out, too. Sky looked like it would pour at any time when I arrived home around 6:20AM. Glad you guys were able to get out, though!

Great ride guys!

Despite the discomfort from the previously stated humidity factor and the wicked "heavy air" the trails themselves haven't been in better shape for what seems like months. We where finally able to ride through some of the notoriously wet areas in the trail system without issue for the first time since early June!!! In general everything is/was super dry, firm and rolling like a million bucks.

Anyway, as I have been rolling solo quite frequently lately, it was great to once again ride with both Greg and Brian and hopefully we can drag some other AZ regulars out for rides in the near future.
