Headed out first thing this morning over to Stone Road and waited to see if Greg was going to show up. Unfortunately he was a no-show so I headed over to Scoville Road and jumped on the bike and started riding about 7:30. Took a warm up lap through the Jug-a-Lug and then heeding the warnings about the wetness in the next section heading over to E. Chippens Road rode back up Scoville down Rt 69 and E. Chippens and picked the trail back up there.

Rode the Truck trail out and did some exploring on the gravel paths in Sessions Woods. Ended up riding all the way to the Education Center and Back. Picked the trail back up and headed back towards Scoville Road on Brian's Trail. I still wanted to ride some more when I hit the car so I did an out and back on the Cemetery Twisties to the 2nd fire road and then took another lap through the Jug.

9.7 miles in just under 2 hours a pretty good pace for me. The trails for the most part are in decent condition considering the rain last night. A few moist areas but all in all pretty darn ridable. I'm really liking the early morning riding time, I was so peaceful out in the woods this morning, well at least until I came along! Regardless despite the slippery conditions I felt like I was riding pretty good today and look forward to the next rip.

One other thing of note: The recently oiled and stoned Scoville Road so be aware that there is plenty of fresh oil that could get on your car or even worse your bike.

Here's the track.....

Interesting route. Sorry I was a no show. My plan really was to ride this morning, but when I came to bed last night my wife asked if I'd take her and the kids to the beach today. I happily shut off the alarm and scored a much needed 11 hours of sleep last night!

Did you find your GPS? Let us know, because we're still out there looking for the blue one.

Looks like a nice loop!

I had a chance to learn more about some of the trails in Sessions Woods the other day. There are a number of little gems hidden away that could provide some additional milage for anyone doing this loop.

One of the more interesting and testing is the Waterfall Downhill which, at the moment, requires a bushwhack/get lost/ hike-a-bike entrance to get to the top of...unless you want to ride up it first to claim your reward. An investigation is underway for a rideable route to the top of this downhill!

Rueler - you riding this afternoon?

Glad you got a good run in!

Funny, when I think back to my first actual mountain biking ride ever, mid-April, I parked at Sco, took a trail head into sessions via the bridge, and truck trail. Then I did a partial loop on the gravel Sessions path to the pond and around to the trail that is like a short cut back to where the truck trail dumps you out in Sessions.. what's it called... gosh.. anyhow.. I remember thinking to myself that this mountain biking stuff was going to be very challenging.. LOL...

Anyhoo...
