I am re-working the marketing material for my ski club.

What is the correct terminology for the thought:

"we will be skiing and boarding"
or
"come skiing and boarding with us",

etcetera. I don't thing I want to say "sliding".

I could swear there is word, and it's not "shredding", but I am afraid I'm having a brain fart about now.....

Ideas/suggestions?

I think you're thinking of "shredding the gnar gnar".

Or possibly just "riding".

Or say "come skiing and sitting-in-the-middle-of-the-trail with us"...
or "come skiing and pushing-snow-off-the-trail with us"...

all right, I'm done

He definitely means "getting mad steezy, yo." Throw in "holla" for emphasis; it's like punctuation.

Boarders refer to themselves as riders and they like to Shred the Gnar or ride the giant white wave...They are also called Knucledraggers and refer to skiers as two planker wankers..they often wear baggie clothes. They can be found rocking out to Ska-Punk or Hip-Hop and are often hi on an illegal plant substance known as marijuana..Alone snowboarders are usually passive but in a group they become fierce..they also don't like to pull the bar down and scoff at skier fashion..such as ski totes..tight one piece skisuits..and fanny packs.

In my head you sounded like Steve Irwin.

BTW I would say on your flyer riding, although if I call up my friends its usually "Hey do you want to ski?" because we where skiers first and foremost and it is just stuck. I don't think that is typical though.

Skiing is the universal term. I was on a board all day today, if anybody asked me I would tell them that I had a great day of skiing.

Who ares what you think, you're just a dumb boarder :-D

But yes, I have a few boarder friends that use riding and skiing interchangeably to describe the act of snowboarding down the hill.

Until this year, my snowboarding son always corrected me when I referred to his boarding/riding as skiing. This year he uses skiing and riding interchangeably. Either he's given up on me, or the times have changed and either term is now acceptable.

I like to get behind a skier and sync turns with him all the while making as loud a noise as possible with my board and I just love watching the skier stiffen up in the turns wondering when the hit is coming..

And I should care why? No boarders can keep up with me. :)
