Hey all,

So, for the holidays I got some money to go to a new jacket for skiing. I use a North Face Apex Bionic Softshell as my mid layer so the shell doesn't need to be insulated.

The two I am considering are:

1) Arc'teryx Sidewinder AR
2) Cloudveil Koven Plus

Any of you have an opinion one way or the other? They are similar in price so that isn't really an issue.

I appreciate all your advice.

The Sidewinder AR is an incredible jacket. If you haven't had Arcteryx in the past you will be impressed with the quality of the seams, stitching and fit. My wife has the Sidewinder AR and I have the Sidedwinder SV and we are both very happy with them. The only negatives are the rather small pocketsand the slim fit. I thinks these are both positives. I wouldn't buy any other brand.
