OK, I am going to be getting back to the states pretty soon. I am going to take leave in early February, and I am hoping to hit MRG and a couple other places while I am there. I am hoping that maybe there is some snow between now and then, cuz looking at the weather reports, they look pretty grim (don't know why I am mentioning this, I am sure you are all fully aware of this). Well on the way back to california(where I am stationed), I plan on stopping somewhere to ski. I though about Whistler, but I think that would me more fun (cuz of the nightlife) with someone else.
I've never skiied in colorado before, I am looking to stop there for 5-6 days. Any recommendations on where to ski? I wanted to go to Vail and Snowmass, but the lodging is ridiculous and I find 85 dollars a day for a lift ticket a wee bit too steep. (I like steepness, but not with prices).

Crested Butte looks like a really good resort, along with Arapahoe Basin. Looking for suggestions on where to go, and WHY?

And o yea if anyone wants to come along, be my guest.

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha, you have a better chance of seeing snow in Iraq right now. Save your money and cut your flight short in denver. They got more snow then they know what to do with.

Anyway, an early welcome home
