I was suprised they don't offer more season pass options. No silver or Bronze type program. If I lived close enough for a pass, i'd probably want to ski weekdays and nights mostly. $429 seems a little steep for the place.

Given that, I think you can stop worrying about the BEast's financial viability, okay?

The ticket pricing really bothers me. It really does. I would have no probem with $28.50 or even $34 midweek if I was in the area looking for something different to ski. I WOULD balk at $50 for that place on the weekend though. Perhaps it's just me.

I think a lot of people got spoiled by the cheap season's passes from ASC and others in the past few years, $429 seems like a pretty good deal to me if you're going to be skiing there with any regularity. Either that, or we're getting ripped off around here.. A season pass for Sundown (625' vert, 15 trails) is $479 early and $579 if purchased after 10/31.

If 50$ would make you walk, then you could either hike for turns, or stay at home. My many years of great financial wisdom and endless knowledge of ski resorts tell me skiing is an expensive sport.:smash:

There were midweek & night options years back, but they didn't sell well enough and posed more problems than benefits. The 7-day 4-night pass has sold really well. The season pass price has increased by about $50 over the past 10 years while trails/lifts/additional snowmaking have been added.

Agreed, Brian. That All For One and the Threedom Pass, to some extent, have created a sense of entitlement. Put in ten days and you're skiing for $42.90 per day. Way better than $43...

I got the sliver at Wachusett which was $229 early which includes weekends up to xmas and after the end of Feb. And trust me you don't want to be there on a weekend during that period. All nights including weekends. The gold is $449 early (I think its up to $559 now). These all include a lot of discounts at other mountians in NE.

Granted volumn goes a long way. I'm sure there are a bunch of folks from Boston who buy passes and don't even use the full value.

You can get that here (Sundown) for $99. No joke. I'm going to go with "getting ripped off".

Thank you! The other thing that's oversighted with those passes is the relative lack of skiing they offer - ie limited or no night skiing, numerous black out days...these missing items aren't brought into the discussion of other passes being too expensive, but are brought up often when people want to gripe about the super passes they have.

Well, you're probably the most improved AZer that I skied with last season.

Damn, that's gonna be mighty hard to live up to this season. I feel like I won't even remember which way to put the skis on. I might have to pass the most improved torch onto someone else this year. I have a feeling Grassi is going to show a lot of improvement this season...

No, generally it does not. They DO have a halfpipe about that long though? (Not that I'd ever use it). Pretty big price discrepancy though for essentially the same thing!

The left ski goes on the left boot, the right ski on the right. Simple! ;)

Agreed. I think this is Grassi's 4th season. I suspect he'll break out of that intermediate plateau this year.

Ha! Thanks for the kind words. Again, I'll take twice the turns at half the speed anyday.

Connecticut is a little different than MakeOutWithMyCousin Canadia...lol

Ha! What GSS said. I think we've already established that SNE is a bit different than your area, snowman. Oh, and half-pipe, shmaff-pipe. Bumps are the shiz (is that right, GSS?). I wouldn't ski Sundown anywhere near as much as I do without the Nor'easter bumps or the Sundown crew.

And in Sundown's defense, there are deals to be had. Their pick-a-night program at $127 (before 10/31) let's you ski one weeknight each week all season. Scroll to the bottom:

http://www.skisundown.com/programs/adults.php

Their $89 savings card knocks down the lift ticket prices nicely too.

Yea, but your'e stuck up in nowhere. Sundown is near a big metropolitan area and has the people willing to pay the price for the convenience. If it was a ripoff people wouldn't pay for it. I do think its kinda lame that there is no weekday pass . . .

Although it's kinda over groomed it makes me appreciate Wachusett a little more.
