Burke and Whiteface have been on my to-do list for some time. No specific plans for either, but you never know. Hope to hit Stowe as well.

Do you plan to ski anywhere new this season?

This makes me chuckle a bit. Who woulda thunk Sundown would be a destination for NNE-ers? I think powbmps came down twice last year. Crazy.

Sugarbush, couple of BC locations yet to be determined top the list. Maybe Mary Jane, if I can swing it.

bumps looked pretty sweet on Gunbarrel in March, better than what I was skiing up north. If I can't make the comp, I at least want to make it down for spring bump harvest.

I go back and forth on what I want to hit. Alot of it will depend upon where the snow falls and where it dosn't. Hickory is reopening and looks incredibly fun with good snow and is probably priced better then most.

Sundown: The threads, pictures, and videos have me wanting meet up with fellow AZers at an area that would otherwise probably not be on my radar.

maybe there should be another catagory for areas that one has not been to in many years. Example Berkshire East, Magic Mountain, etc - places I have been to many years ago but not since and going to ski them is pretty much like going to them for the first time again.

i've been fortunate enough to have skied both, they are incredible places. considering that they are not too far from each other they are two totally different mountains (IMHO).

No kidding. One is a modern resort. The other one just left the 70's and entered the 90's with the new quad. Nothing like PowMow on a powder day. Good view of Snow Basin from top of Powder Mountain (Little Wolf Mt too). Best Ski area Cheese Burger I've ever had there too.

I'm not expecting to be able to do a ton of skiing outside of Sundown this year, when I do it will probably be to a short list of favorites. I am looking forward to hitting Sugarloaf for the first time this year though! :spread:

Lately I've been thinking I'd really like to get the family out to try Sunday River this year. It seems to get positive reviews from a lot of people, and the trail map looks pretty interesting to me.

But it's quite a long drive from Boston, so would require at least one overnight stay, and it doesn't seem like it is much of a resort destination. I'm not sure how I'd keep the kids entertained in the evenings if we did a multi-day trip there.

My wife is suggesting we go to Mont Tremblant, which has a lot of activities outside of skiing. But we've already been there so I might like to try something different. I might look to do something out west, like Santa Fe perhaps. That's not a skiing mecca I suppose, but we've always wanted to take a vacation there.

When are you going? We have a Stowe time share. Decided to try to swap it for somewhere out West this year. Ended up swapping for a Vail time share in mid January. Found cheap air tickets. Lift tickets are so ridiculous we decided it made a lot of sense to buy the Epic pass and go back to CO in March. We'll likely stay in Frisco in March. We've done most places in UT but this will be our first ski trip to CO. I'd really like to try Burke this year.

Same here, this year will be tough. I imagine 95% of my day will be at Sundown this winter. Will probably get a Weekend at SR, some friends have a condo there. Also planning on atleast a couple of days at Magic.

I'm not sure what would give you the impression that Sunday River is not a resort destination. It very much is and has quite a bit of off hill activities. If the 'resort' experience is what you're looking for, I'd put Sunday River up there with most places in New England. There are a number of regulars from here that call SR home. Definitely a good spot for kids with lots of activities.
