Next years Pass Prices

Killington has the highest food prices of any mountain I've ever been to.

Stowe is the highest I've seen in the east, but worth every penny IMO. I've had exceptional food in Spruce Camp.

I've had $6 slices of garbage pizza in K base lodge.

I'd rather pay $12 for a gourmet panini, than $6 for a slice of crap pizza even if they both fill me up just the same.

I have not found that to be true. The soup & 1/2 sandwich deal in the Peak Lodge for $10.50 is a good value to me (also very good quality). They run daily specials in K-1 lodge that run around the same price including a drink (had steamed mussels over rice pilaf with a white cream sauce a couple weeks ago). You should try $15+ for just a burger or sandwich in the great room at Stowe (no fries or drink included, just cole slaw).

The biggest deterrent for me hopping on any spring season pass deals is I'll be graduating school in May and will have a completely different career where I'm unsure of what my work schedule will be. My days off might end up being midweek, so I could snap up a midweek pass or two for cheap. Won't know until probably July by the time I sort everything out with getting my X-ray license and diving into that job market.

Congrats on that. My SIL is an X-ray Technician & makes nice money.

xwhaler; I was unaware you can buy 2 fox44 cards. That's actually a really good idea. Just wish there were more NH options on the deal other than Cannon.

I'm not sure if you can under the same name/address but I'm sure a friend/family member could help in that regard pretty easily. We are pretty much locked in to our annual N VT trip next yr and I'd suspect for many years thereafter. The set up and getaway for us with ability to hit multiple mtns and Burlington for a dinner just works incredibly well for us.
This yr we'll hit Jay, Smuggs, and either MRG/Middlebury on the Fox 44 card for myself with my wife using the 3 SkiVT passes.
But given that I can get 2 for 1's to Jay/MRG/Middlebury on any day but Saturday I sort of am not really maximizing the value of the SkiVT passes at $42/each.

My other VT skiing consists of Okemo (early season rates, passholder freebie vouchers, and NH/VT Sunday Solution $35 tix) and Magic which I can typically get for under the cost of the $42 Ski VT pass.
If I knew I could hit Stowe or Sugarbush for sure in a given season I would be more inclined to get them again. It's too bad I can't use 2 SkiVT passes at Stowe for this season in a given day b/c I would probably go there instead of Jay while we're up there. I know some mtns are probably more lax about that policy but don't want to take the chance and then be told no and have to pay $98 walk up rate.

I too wish there were more NH mtns on that card. It's coming out of a TV Station in Colchester VT so I can see why they are focused on that region. I personally have no use for Titus or Gore so would love to see that swapped with BWoods or even Pico.

I've done food on a similar scale far far away from resorts in competitive markets and gotten more money, those prices are great.

I'm getting the feeling this is subbed out right? Does Killington F&B run this operation?

Also, ski area prices of food are spot on with what the market will take. People line up to purchase...I never really understood eating a burger and fries for lunch anyhow. I'm more concerned with the quality honestly.

Some good quality cheese, bread, maybe some fruit and a beer or two. To me that's a perfect lunch and so much cheaper. If I'm going to eat on the hill I'd rather sit down and pay a little more. Beers and food at the Ritz at Northstar are cheaper then the cafeteria and infinitely better in a nice setting.

300$ for Catamont pass should I buy it. Not my favorite hill but half price of Catskills hills. Not crowded on weekends yet close and night skiing and snowboarding.

Yes the Yurt is run by Killington F&B but there are 2 people that basically run the Yurt location. Peak Lodge has a nice food court that serves high end food also. Anything from soup, freshly made deli sandwiches, various pasta dishes, angus burgers, steaks & daily specials (swordfish for instance). They also have a nice bar menu at the Peak Lodge. The cheese platter pictured below is an example of the food available at the bar. All fairly priced. The food resort wide has greatly improved this year. There is also the Sunrise Cafe on the mountain which is privately run as is Anna's Empanada's at the base of Needles Eye chair.

I'm pretty sure you can buy more than one in the same name, it is a great idea since you'd be able to do a couple days at each place, more bang for your buck, or bring a friend along. I've been unable to resist this awesome deal, and it's kept me from traveling West. I'm going to fight the urge next year, gotta checkout Tao's new lift! My Son should be settled in in Boulder next year too, I'm sure I'll miss him enough to pay him a visit by then.:wink:

Totally agree on that. I'd actually give real consideration to that pass. Mass bumps I wanna say were Ski Ward and Blandford maybe? I never saw the mtns other than ragged/skiway mentioned online but it was there as a midweek option
