I night ski a fair amount at Crotched but I find it difficult to ski at night because at most places the lighting is marginal.

I'll reiterate what most folks have said, I'd prefer to ski under natural lighting any day but night skiing has it's benefits if like me, you're a weekend skier. What scares me during the night is a yahoo coming down behind me at a high rate of speed. The darkness always makes me feel more vulnerable. In addition, if you're tired, night skiing can be a bit of a drag, you get colder more easily and attention span wanes which tends to diminish my technique - may be a oxymoron!

If it was ski season...I'd have skied 20-25k of vert after work and right now I'd be posting a trip report on PASR...drinking a beer...and broiling a steak...yay for night skiing..it's nice when the local bartender misses you at happy hour for 3-4 straight months...Holla

Mmmm. Beer and a porterhouse. But happy hour's aren't allowed here in Ma.
Actually I have never skied nights but I plan on quite a few Sunday nights at Wachusetts. It's less than a half hour from my house so even if I can only make a few runs it's worth it.

Are you serious..no happy hours allowed in MASS...all the bars around have happy hours which usually lasts for 2 hours. At my favorite happy-hour bar...they have free popcorn..$1.25 Domestic Drafts...1/2 price appetizers..and..75 cents off Import and Micro drafts.

Sometimes when I go night skiing at Blue..I stop at Grumpys BBQ Roadhouse which is about 12 miles south of Blue and 6 miles from my place. They have great brisket and 23 ounce beers. Sometimes after night skiing..I play poker or sing Karaoke..after posting a Trip Report...of course..

I’ve been night skiing since the beginning. Going back to the pre-kid days of the 70’s. Starting with West mountain, a couple of times at Brodie, but mostly at Jiminy. It’s great to leave the office and be skiing within an hour. It’s one of the ways I keep the ever weakening grip I have on sanity. You can freeze your goodies off, but (in my case) it’s a small price to pay. After about 8:00 I’d have the mountain to myself, I can get 9 runs in an hour with out even trying. Of course the lifties can get a little ticked at you because they have to leave their semi warm spot in the lift shack to load you, but that’s why they get the big bucks.

Unfortunately happy hours have been banned in Mass for over twenty years. They can still have specials on food but they can't discount alcohol. They can't give away alcohol as a prize for a contest either. One time at a bar I ordered a beer and a shot and the bartender told me she couldn't give me both at the same time. She said that was a Mass law but if it is most bars ignore that one.

Yea, but the bartender was wrong on the shot and a beer. It's illegal to serve them more then *2* drinks at the same time.
