I've skied 9 pretty decent days so far this year. Killington for 6 of them. Why should I complain, they had some snow of boarderline on superb quality wednesday and tuesday, although monday was pretty scrapey.

I agree. Everyone stop bitching, get out and find the snow, it is out there for the taking.

Well let's see. I blew off work yesterday and hit Hunter. Besides the fact that it took 4 hours to get there after a truck dumped it's whole load in front of the toll booth to the thruway. It stayed cold and they had blown about 6 inches on Hellgate, kennedy, and Eisenhower, which had some nice moguls. I got in about 5 hours before conking out. All in all a good day though. Took 4 hours to get home though, another accident on the hutch, oh well.

Aside from being out on the slopes, the best thing about skiing this season is coming to work on Monday and announcing that you went skiing that weekend. When they say say: "How can you ski when there's no snow," you tell them that it's not here in the city, but it's white in the mountains -- then watch them turn green with envy.

Can't wait to hit Sugarbush next week!

I'm skiing the next 3 days...and I don't care a lick about the weather. It can go ahead and rain on me tomorrow because I'll be out there making turns. Like I said, I don't care.

What could be better than that?

Look at the bright side, if you get a little rain, you'll have the mountain to yourself. Some of my best days have been in the rain, so long it's not pouring.

Word bro...I agree about the some of my best days part.

Hoping it doesn't pour, I haven't heard about anything other than showers at this point.

I just pulled the trigger on Italy. Now, even if it never snows here all winter, I've got somethign to look forweard too. A week in the Dolomites.

It's going to be Do-lo-MITE!

I didn't think Europe had any snow. You could be trading a worm eaten apple for another (admitably bigger) worm eaten apple. The Dolomite should be beautiful any time of year though. Have fun :)

Every time I get angry about the season I just look at my desktop background picture I took two weeks ago.

And if that doesn't do it, this should.

Hey Grassi21 did you get the "Slope Simulator" attachment for the Edge Machine? It is really worth it. It not only makes the action or motion of the machine more authentic, but it will truly "hone" your balance so that staying "centered" over your bindings becomes totally automatic. I can't tell you what over a year of use has done for my balance. Write me if you have any questions.

I did go with the Slope Simulator. They threw it in as a free gift with purchases before 12/29. I was considering the thingy that tracks your turns. But then I realized that the Slope Simulator would be more useful for getting me ready for more challenging steep terrain. Thanks for making me feel better about the choice. The machine arrives on Tuesday. X-Mas will come 1 day late in our house. Even though I should be skiing on Tues., I will still hop on my new toy as soon as I get home.

The "Gatekeeper" is useful in terms of ego satisfaction (and yes, it is convenient to have it count for you, and it does "keep you honest" in terms of not only total turns but also, it keeps you honest in terms of making sure that you are making full side to side transitions because it won't count the turn unless you traverse far enough to each side). But, the Slopesimulator really helps you develop the proper "muscle memory" that helps you stay centered over your bindings. I am definitely a real fan of the gadget. I might actually look for a part-time sales job with the company once I am settled out west in SLC.

Keep me posted on that job prospect. ;-) I have a feeling I might look in to that gate keeper down the line.

I have 32 days off from college which is great. I have already skied 5 days and plan to get in a couple more before the new year.

after barely crawling my way though college, I made deans list my final semester...all my classes were at 400 level and I boosted my second half GPA over 3.0 and my major GPA to a 2.8.

not bad for someone who got 0 credits their first three semesters.

I took my sister skiing for the first time ever on Friday. She lives in Florida.
The weather here and in Europe is producing some excellent wine. The 2005 Bordeauxs have been impressing a lot of people.
