I high jacked Loafer89's thread so I started my own and he is welcome to tear apart mine.
For the lst time in many years I have no summer tour. I have been hiking and trying to stay busy outside. I sure could use a week on tour.

Spac is great to go to. That is my favorite east coast venue. Have fun. The Allmans are always fun.

Grateful Dead shows were a blast there... Crazy - but fun...
Just saw Dave Mathews Band there... Band played great... The crowd was obnoxious...

I LOVE the Allmans... But I think I like moe. better right now... I've heard a few of their recent shows... They are really kicking butt right now... !

I would like to see more Donna the Buffalo shows if I had the time. They are from upstate I believe.

I hear their stuff on WDST(Woodstock) - it's good!
I'd go check them out..

Missed Blues Traveler last week :( Was kinda bummed about that...

Allmans and moe. at SPAC would be a great show. Saw the Allmans there in 1980 and saw Dicky Betts and Great South for free in 1979. I grew up about 12 miles form SPAC and lawn admission was $4 when I was 15. Saw lots of shows at SPAC, but never saw the Dead there!

Typical. I've been to a bunch of DMB shows. The crowd usually consists of thousands of falling over stupid drunk teenagers and college kids looking to party more than listen to the music. I've sworn off going to a DMB show unless I have really good seats. General admission sucks. I've seen kids fighting, passing out, puking, and pissing into cups and throwing it on the crowd.... I can't wait until Dave gets old and grey and so do his fans so I can go to a show and chill out.

It's tough for me to see him cause I used to catch him in the mid 90's in NYC at clubs.. Man - did I get hooked.. One of the first times I saw him a friend dragged me to see him at Roseland - I went cause John Popper from Blues Traveler was going to be a guest... It blew my mind.. Also Trey from Phish came out and jammed at that show.. And I was really getting into Phish then..

I actually saw him at Wetlands the year before around halloween but for some reason it didn't register with me.. Maybe cause it was crowded and i was really wasted.....

Now everytime I see him - I swear it will be the last.. Somehow i get sucked back into it...

String Cheese Incident is playing the Bandshell at prospect park tomorrow. Not a bad venue.

Anyhoo ..... The SPAC is my favorite venue in the east as well. I stopped seeing DMB for the same reasons (the crowd). Moe kicks some ass, I saw them for the first time at a bar in Albany in the early 90's .... I'm glad to see them takeoff. Saw them at the Gathering of the Tribes the summer after Jerry died.

We could always follow the 23A tour. I heard the drummer is a real looker.

New York Ave is the first block of the West End of L.B. It's a great part of town with tons of bars. Be sure to check out the scene there. The owner of Minnessota's (on Minnessota Ave and Beach) is a skiier (I met him at the Grist Mill up at Killington once) You should stop by to see if you can grab a gig there. (Warning .... the crowd is a bit Long Island Guido though) If your looking for places to hang out after the gig, lemme know, I'll recommend some libation establishments. Lemme know when your playing L.B. or Rockaway or Manhattan next .... I'll be sure to check you guys out.

........how's this for a hijack, Bob?.........

Thanks... Just about everyone in the band grew up in Long Beach.. A couple are NYPD... I guess it's a real enclave for cops...
I'm going to drive back to Hunter that night - have to go to work the next day.. :(

They are actually auditioning another drummer because going to LI from Hunter is unrealistic for me. And they potentially get a lot of gigs out there..

So - if you miss the Dead this summer... T-Road plays - "Deal", "Franklins Tower", "Jack-A-Roe", "Scarlette", IKO>Women>NFA>GDRFB, "Bertha" and "Big Rairoda Blues"..
With a zydeco twist...

They're are a lot of Cops and Firemen in Long Beach and the Rockaways/Belle Harbor area. I bet you if we put our heads together we would know some similar people. I have cops neighboring next door on both sides of the house....great guys. A friend of mine from High School grew up in Long Beach and now she lives down the block from me. She's an NYPD detective and her husbands a Lt. in FDNY.
