They're are a lot of Cops and Firemen in Long Beach and the Rockaways/Belle Harbor area. I bet you if we put our heads together we would know some similar people. I have cops neighboring next door on both sides of the house....great guys. A friend of mine from High School grew up in Long Beach and now she lives down the block from me. She's an NYPD detective and her husbands a Lt. in FDNY.

Funny thing is... Lot's of those cops - are Deadheads!?!?!

Great bunch of guys..

iko>women>nfa ...... How in the world do they transition??????? ;)

Transtition from IKO to "Woman Are Smarter" is easy - same basic beat... The transition to NFA starts with the "Bo Diddly beat" then the opening bars before the "I aint gong to tell you how it's gonna be".. Then the transition to "Goin Down the Road Feelin bad" is subtle - starts with me changing up the beat a bit to wake everyone up.. :)

I high jacked Loafer89's thread so I started my own and he is welcome to tear apart mine.
For the lst time in many years I have no summer tour. I have been hiking and trying to stay busy outside. I sure could use a week on tour.

I was just down in Hershey PA this week, stood on the hill opposite Hershey park and looked down on the little stadium there....brought back great memories of the 85 summer tour with the stop at hershey - almost missed the start due to construction on 22 in NJ (before they finished 78)...then get to PA and see a sign - construction next 35 miles!!! SPAC was the day before Hershey...another great venue. Much better than Giants stadium...and summer 87 with dylan...so many great tours....

St Stephen will remain....all that he lost he shall regain...

I was at Spac, but not Hershey.
I saw phil and Friends at Hershey a few years ago. I was front row. Robert Hunter came out to open early cause it was raining. They played on the back of the endzone facing the little hill. It was alomost like a small theater. The seats were plastic lawn chairs. Mine at home were better. By the 2nd song everyone had removed the chairs and my front row seat was gone. I went and sat on the hill with a bunch of folks.
Alot of candy was eaten that day. Many hit the plant 1st. As I recall there was a strike at the plant so it was interesting.

The lot was interesting families taking their kids to the park and the deadheads hangin in the lot. Something to behold. Nice to remember.

Yup - great show - mindblowing Terrapin - great Cold Rain and Snow... GET THE CD!!!
Nice banter about the rain... Some trippy PA echo things happening too..

We drove straight down from SPAC and slept in the Hershey lot.. Hit the park the next day..

Great time!

I love that "IKO-women" set. Very fun to hop around to that! 8)

I also have to pipe in that a song I have not heard in a very long time came on the radio yesterday and took my breath away. "Rosemary." I forgot how much I like that song.

It is quite a shame that the boys won't be on the road this summer. Barlow seems to think that we saw the last hurrah last summer according to some recent interviews, which coming from him is a pretty powerful statement. If that's the case, I feel very fortunate to have driven solo by myself 8 hours up to Atlanta from Florida last summer to catch what might go down as the last show the Dead played. I'm crossing my fingers that its not true, but if it is, I feel highly blessed for my 20 years of very fond memories and to the boys I say Thank you, For a Real Good Time!

In the meantime I'm blessed to live in Burlington, Vermont where the music never stops. Up next on my list will be Assembly of Dust on the 20th (for those who haven't seen them, IMHO they are the best show on the road right now) and then Rat Dog on the 24th. Should be cool seeing Bobby in a venue that holds less than 600 people.

Burlington rocks... Great music scene..

I'm blessed to live 20 minutes away from Woodstock NY... Another little town that has a great scene..

Assembly Of Dust is a good band!
