My dentist is a creepy old man, and he doesn't even have hot assistants.........But he doesn't hurt me and I dont complain.

My dentist is a creepy old man,

Give us a few more years and we'll have all the creepy old guys retired and/or killed off ;) Plus one of the new admission criteria that's in place at dental schools now is you need to be either cool and/or good looking to get in ;) (fortunately for me on both counts I was accepted BEFORE that policy was implemented ;) )

he doesn't even have hot assistants.

That's just not right! ;)

But he doesn't hurt me and I dont complain.

Well 1 out of 3 isn't bad, and I guess that's the most important one!

My dentist finally gave up trying to convince me to have my wisdom teeth removed, after 6 years of visits, with no cavities on the horizon.
My former fang farmer wanted me to let him yank them prior to their emergence and continued to warn of their impending impaction for years. To this day I'm a proud member of the "over 40" still got all 32 club.
Brush twice daily, floss infrequently, get um' scraped every four months.

Oh boy, those from time to time will blow up on ya, and usually then it won't be the wisdom tooth that has the problem, but the tooth infront of it that the wizzie is wedged up against. If that happens, then you get to go from "the over 40 and still have 32" club to the "over 40 and only got 30" club

Speaking from experience, Do it!

My husband has a serious phobia. I'll never forget the first time we went to the office with "special assistance". My husband stood there with a mellow look on his face, told the dental assistant that he didn't feel any effects of the pill. Trust me, I could tell..........Nuthin was gonna harsh his mellow!
The Assistant said to him, "Oh, honey, we don't give you that for the procedure. We give you that so you'll walk through the door".

Before his visits, they call to verify the pharmacy to send the scrip to. Two pills, one for the night before, one the morning of. His teeth are beautiful, and we are both happy, especially him! :)

And the cost of extraction is prolly not going to go down in the foreseeable future, The ironic part is , if I had it done all those years ago my insurance would have covered 100 %
as preventive care. My current policy only kicks in if it's an emergency extraction. I shudder to think what they consider an emergency. Hind sight is 20/20 , Aye Doc.

Those often turn into some of my most profitable cases! ;) Also, most of those tend to "blow up" on the Friday afternoon BEFORE a long holiday weekend :(

I have a cavity filling visit tomorrow with ol' driller. Then I get my 2 upper wizzies yanked on 7/29. Had the bottoms yanked about 3 years ago. I miss them. Always nice to have those 4 "spares". Fortunately, they're above gum and pop out ez. I might save these 2 and do some kinda body piercing :)

It's been about 18 months since my last cleaning. No longer have dental insurance and it somehow fell to the bottom of the list due to all my other medical problems that came up. I really need to go...

Definitely get a cleaning done..alot of Tarter can build up in 18 months..there's some saying that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of something later....I actually look forward to getting cleanings done now..since the dentist gets rid of bacteria that I miss.
