Next week is not looking as bad as originally thought. Monday is going to be all snow. You should be out there enjoying it....I was at Pico today and it was great.

In any case, I'm guessing that snowmaking is done for the season...

Nope, I can account for at least 2 areas (and I'm sure there are more) that are still making it. Wachusett will make snow in March and even April is it's cold enough. Bretton Woods was making snow last year in May.

Yeah, you northern folk have all the fun. Connecticut (you may snicker here) sucked. I just bought XC skis and would have had more use with water skis. Although, it's actually snowing a bit right now (2nd time this year.).

My first two winters in CT were awesome; we had Nor'Easter after Nor'Easter with solid snowcover from mid December through mid March. I was tricked into expecting the same every season.

So, for you northern folk...enjoy the snow. I will hope for enough for some XC, but it looks like in another two weeks it'll be time to start shopping for kayaks.

Winter is giving way to spring here in Las Vegas with cherry trees in blossom, but my son and I enjoyed a fine day of skiing on Mount Charleston at the Las Vegas Ski Resort with sunny skies and packed powder snow.

So far I have 22 days in with 7 of them being powder days.

CT doesn't really get much snow (relatively) compared to northern new england. why don't you just throw your gear in your car and drive up here like everyone else? skiing has been fantastic for several weeks now and as many have pointed out, march is usually one of the best months to ski. the best XC centers in new england are fully open and ready for your business.
