I'd say there are more than that usually... actually, I have no sense of anything, so I could be dead wrong. But 250 sounds like a really small number, even for Plattekill.

Yeah, if we can get 60 or so people, it would be a pretty good deal. I would probably go in on that.

Almost never more than 5-10 people in the lift lines. They have some of the steepest runs in the Catskills, bumps on some of them. Blockbuster and Freefall are probably up there with some of Hunter's steepest. GREAT woods, and lots of tight, narrow, twisty, fun trails.

I do enjoy the place for the tree skiing, but to call any trail there steep by any means is off base

No, it's any midweek day, and they don't groom :)... You can rent out the mountain for a midweek day, $2,500 for up to 250 people. How sick would an AZ day be haha.

250 on the mountain at Plattekill :-o

How about 50 people at $50 a pop.... :daffy:

I like that idea. :daffy:

I know Laz, I bet I could get im to drop that $2500 price a litle bit.

Pretty cool. I might be down for this. Mon-Thurs is not great for me though, but don't let that stop anyone. Someone fire something up in T&E.

I was glad to see Lazlo and his wife at the NYC press event last night.

I love that place, especially on Powder Daize.

adamti91 mentioned they bought some new guns, but their previous ones were purchased from either Belleayre or Hunter...

A bunch came from magic and a few other resorts that i do not recall last year. This year there are bunch of new air water guns. The goal is to tower mount air waters up northface and the upper face. The old t-bar towers will actually be cut and turned into gun towers. The real snowmaking improvement is the addition of the new pump house and water rights to a large pond down the road a bit. This actually went in last year but there was a problem with voltage demand from the power company. This has been corrected so you can expect twice the water hence twice the amount of guns that can be run at the same time. As far as the trail widening ridge run, twist, powder puff, overlook, and a few others were not necessarily widened but defiantly cleaned up a bit. Anybody that has been on these trails in the past few years would remember there being a lot of overhanging brush usually on the skiers right. This was removed. This will help make the snow surface more even by spreading out the traffic on the trail. The down side is it will take away from some of the pow that tended to build up on the sides of the trails. The woods runs mountain biking trails and stashes were not cut. Speaking of mountain biking trails there are a bunch of new features that should be fun with snow on them.
As for an AZ rent the mountain you can count me in. I will give you all the grand tour. There are lots of semi hidden cut ins and cut outs in and out of the woods that are not on a map. Some of the best days I have had at Plattekill were at a rent the mountain. The best day to do it would be a Thursday so all of the fresh builds up from the week when they are closed. You would almost gaurente fresh tracks all day.
