I may go there next weekend since my place at Killington is rented. I hope they get more snow this coming weekend. I love to ski there.

Love the place, recent snowfall is nice, but I fear that they still don't have enough base.

Bring them rock skis! They said they where going to try and pack the snow down to create a base. This is why they didn't open for a powder day tuesday.

And that's the reason I say that I fear they don't have much base. Once again, love the place, just wish they had more.

It's weird. Even though I am going to Colorado and hit utah twice a year, I'm depressed that I haven't been able to ski the local hills. Plattekill is my salvation on Sundays when Hunter is out of the question. I feel like I'm missing out on a good part of the season. My wife and friends say the same thing all the time "but you're going out west". Doesn't matter to me. I still like to ski the locals every weekend.

Better bring a planeload of snow back from out west...this weather is going to destroy any hopes of a decent natural base at Plattekill.

This has to be killing them over there. 14 inches then heavy rain. So far the website has not altered it's open run schedule. Blockbuster is prolly a ball buster by now.

Sux, I'm sure they're hurting this year as are others. Difference here, it's privately owned and not a big money maker during good times. I hope the owners make it through this season OK.

I think they make way more money on their mountain bike operation. Weather doesn't affect those guys.

Feel the same way. I've had as much fun (well, almost) shredding through the woods and ungroomed stuff at Pkill as I've had out West. Hunter's crowds generally annoys me on weekends - about the only time I can ski. Try Elk.

Only 6 trails open today 3 beginner, 3 intermediate. This is the message on their site:

Open today 8:45am-4:15pm with mostly cloudy skies and chance for afternoon snow showers. DISCOUNTED 1/2 day rates in effect for a full day of skiing/riding for today...come get a few runs in!

Sad :(

That is sad!
My son and I skied there Super Bowl weekend last year for the first time. It was a warm day but conditions were great on the snow making slopes.
We had planned since Nov. to ski there again this year hoping to ski all of the trails that were thin cover last year. But instead we drove to visit my daughter in college through heavy rain. No skiing on the way.
Here's hoping for a February dump!
