Fixed it for you.

Phil, nine out of 10 days that I ski in the lowly Poconos I get a dozen or so runs in on freshly groomed cord...on decent pitches that mostly are equivalent to mild diamonds up north. If I didn't know better, I'd think you were just busting on GSS...to have runs like Challenge and Razor's with chalky powder on top of corduroy just waiting for you so close by---but to instead hate on it because it's sometimes icy is pretty sad, IMO.

Eh, I really don't care who skis where and how often, but when I'm laying a ski over on edge on Boomer's wide face or hitting 50 mph on tiny Tanglwood's headwall, I pretty much forget where I am...well, yeah, until that long ass lift back up...

Maybe you should buy a place at the Yellowstone Club...oh, wait, they're bankrupt and going under...oh, well...

i'm a hockey guy so maybe that's why i like blue - keeps you on edge....i'm sure the snow would be better if it moved 20 mi north and 1000' up. i've skii'd the rest of the pokey's and don't think the condiitions are any worse there - especially on any giiven saturday from 11 am on - it is what it is and its a half hour away so phil you keep headin north broh

I give Phillycore the steezy awards PA skier award for this week. He ducked out of work early Friday to hit up Big Boulder with me and AtomicSkier..then went back the next day with his son..and his drive was 110 miles each way...

Blue mountain opens at 8:30AM...Friday November 28th..I'm not quite sure what will be open but based on snowmaking activity it's looking like Main Street/Barneys Bumps...Midway..easy out..vista..lazy(crazy) mile..school hill..and almost definitely a park on Come A Round with some jumps and rails..I haven't hit any boxes yet this season but if they put the Rollercoaster box out there..I'll hit dat!!!!...and the butter box is mad creamy..ya Heard!!!!!..

Anyone think the rain tonight will affect this weekends openings?

Nope..it's actually snowing in the Poconos right now..I don't even think it will hit 40 degrees. Lift tickets are usually reduced early season. I think alot of people will take advantage of lift serviced skiing..close to their in-laws..kill two birds with one turkey or something like that....Opening day at Blue is a blast..and I think there will be extra energy due to the ski patrol show..The Blue mountain ski patrollers were seen by hundreds of thousands of households. Blue mountain is opening in 3+ days....www.skibluemt.com Touch the Sky..Blue Mountain!!!!

It was maybe 2-3 inches of wet snow. It was all rain in Lehighton / Jim Thorpe. I took a ride up the Mt and at around 1600 feet it turned into really big flakes and the roads were pretty nasty. Kinda like the October storm. Don't know if Blue got any of that though.
