I just wanted to start a poll on the forum to see how many here would consider purchasing a night time or twilight season pass to Sundown if they were offered? A bunch of the smaller hills and even some of the larger one in MA have both of these options. Typically a night pass is good from 6:00pm to close, and a twilight pass is good from 3:00pm to close. On average night passes are about 40% the price of a full pass, and twilight passes are about 50% to 60% the price of a full pass.

The Evil family (Marge and myself) only ski at Sundown at night, usually two plus times a week. So we don’t get there enough to justify the cost of a full pass, but a night time or twilight pass would be a perfect fit for out situation. I also know for a fact the Sundown does give night time season passes to employees that work under the hours required for a full pass. So it could be implemented very easily, I think they just need to know there is enough interest from the public to offer it.

It is ironic is that if you work less than 16 hrs/week for them, that's what you get - a season's night pass (good 6-10PM). I found it unusual that I get that since it's not offered for purchase.

But I agree with you. I imagine if they were available for purchase, they would sell quite a few.

I guess in theory you could purchase two pick-a-night passes for $168 (early purchase) each, no?

Well not to Sundown, but the Bronze pass at Wachusett is essentially that unless you don't work on weekdays. And it's sub $200 early season.

In theory that may work, but we would have to ski on the same two nights every week. We are pretty much there every Wed. night, but the 2nd night seems to float. And if my memory serves me, those pick a night passes don't last all season. Aren't they only for 10 (maybe 15) weeks?

I could see the night passes being a big deal for Sundown to impliment from scratch. But they already give them to employees, and obviously have the infrastructure already inplace to do it. I was talking to the woman runing the main counter in the lodge on Friday night, and even she admitted it was pretty silly they didn't sell them.

I don't think you have to ski the same night every week. The pass is only good one (or 2) day(s) a week, whichever day(s) you choose that week. So if you go on Wednesday one week, you can go Tuesday or Friday (or any day) the next week. But it's only 1 (or 2) day(s) for the week so if you use it on Monday you have to wait until the next Monday before you go (or something like that).

I believe the pick-a-night is just that, pick any weeknight, every week all season.

But you're right - a night pass would be a more elegant solution.

I'm a definite MAYBE. I'm about 1 hour south of Sundown but have managed to get up there a few times for night sessions. My biggest challenge is 2 kids who have various week night activities that require parental dropoff/pickups so can't do those and get up to the mountain for fun. BUT, if the price was right and i had the pass in hand it would be a big motivator to get me up there. Even if it was arriving after 7 it would still be worth it.

While I would not buy one simply because i live too far away 1.75 hours, if it was closer I would really consider it. The mountain has alot of character to it, and I think I would enjoy it alot.

Just went there Sunday for the first time.
Bumps were OK for CT.
Better than Mohawk.
Will have to get up there at night more, but I would not want a pass.

Same here. I'd like to, but I have a hard time justifying the drive.

Maybe for me. It does depend on the price. Besides my night sessions, the wife and will do a handful of days on the weekends or midweek days. I didn't go with the pick a night program this year for just that reason. I think I might go with the full on season pass next season. This season I found that I am doing less day trips to VT, MA, and NY. Before and while my son is learning to ski I wouldn't mind logging the bulk of my days at Sundown. Once the kid can ski I see us traveling a bit more.

I think it's a great idea and would consider buying one if I didn't already work there.
