Popup ads are annoying...

Has anybody noticed more popup ads on here lately? It's interfering with my postwhoring...

yeah, i'm not a fan of the ads inside the threads but the pop-ups are definitely over the top annoying.

I've never ever gotten a pop up on AZ, in either IE or Firefox. At least, not that I recall.

Haven't noticed pop ups, but did see a Snickers commercial that was an 'Expand Roll Over' type add that basically covers half the screen.

I spoke with Greg about that and was told it was not intentional to have such a type of advertisement. I'd assume the same is true for the pop ups and it's just a function of current advertisers adjusting their ads.

be patient, doubt the ads last

It wasn't a pop-up per se but the banner ad at the top got REALLY big and had a 'x' in the top right corner to make it smaller again. I saw this on Firefox 3.5.2

I'm using Internet Exploder and I've never had a pop-up or anything like you're describing on AZ,

There are no intentional popup ads on AZ. The expanding leaderboard has been happening which is a result of the "filler" ad network I use in the off season. On-topic advertising is about to resume.

Western Connecticut U's ad is doing the same thing this morning. Annoying, expecially when (not the case with this ad) the X is so small and hidden you can't find it, and then miss it when you do, so the new ad pops up.

that's what particularly sucks, when you have to play Where's Waldo to find the stupid X to collapse the ad. Totally marketing douchebaggery where if karma is real, the ad writers should frequently slam their fingers in car doors.

I use Firefox with the ABP addon, Adblock Plus. I never see any adds.
