i apologize if this has been done before but with the memory of closing weekend at k still fresh in my mind, was curious whether people had a preference for a great pow day or a great spring bump day. as much as i love a great pow day (and this year probably caught 6-8 of them), i'm still buzzing about the awesome closing weekend at k, 3 days of blue skies, warm temps and great bumps. our modus operandi is different for both. on a pow day, other than the first few runs, we're in the trees all day but on a warm spring, it's an all day bumpathon. the spring day also has the advantage of light clothing, tailgate and is more social. had this discussion with geoff on one of our nature walks to north star (closed) that weekend. curious about your thoughts ...

I'll take either, although the Pow is a bit more elusive and thus more desirable. Corn bumps are pretty much a guarantee in the spring.

Powder. Cuz the only thing better than spring bumps are pow bumps. Seriously, once things track out on trail or in the woods, you still can have several days of good snow/bumps. In the spring, the surface is variable, almost on an hourly basis. Still a bluebird warm spring bump day is almost as good as a powder day.

It's a pretty big misconception around here that I only love bumps, and some think specifically seeded bumps. My love of bumps is primarily a means to build the skill needed to truly enjoy more technical terrain and natural snow trails. I'll take a character trail on a powder day over a perfect zipper any time.

Powder without a question. More specifically I like to ski in the storm when you can't see $hit with no people, free refills every run and snow pasted to every part of you. The day after is too late.

Oh I like corn too, but it's a shorter window and doesn't provide the same feeling. If people were voting with their money than I would say corn loses miserably.

Powder takes my vote.

Spring bumps happen really every year (just a matter of how long they last), where as deep powder days are not always a given.

I think I voted without realizing the depth of the pow being discussed.

I'd take a bluebird spring bump day over 95% of knee deep (or less) pow days. But if you're talking above the knee, true pow...I might have to change my vote.
