Unfortunately for me I don’t get to ski weekdays like many of you do so I take what I can get when the weekend rolls around. If I get my shopping done I’m thinking of hitting the slopes Saturday, either a day trip locally in CT or making a run up to southern VT.

What do you think it will be like Saturday, madhouse crowded start of the Christmas vacation or calm before the storm?

I don't think it will be too busy at Mount Snow this weekend. I've been there the last 3 weekends and it hasn't been busy at all. The longest I've ever waited in lines this year is less than 5 minutes. My friend who's an Ambassador at Mount Snow says the weekend before Christmas is seldom busy and the day before Christmas and Christmas day itself it's absolutely deserted. I'm counting on that this year.

22 to 25th- close to metro areas will do better business than areas further north. People have lots of obligations, i assume quick getaway areas are better off. Wachusette could actually be kind of busy-this is just my own assumption, i could easily be wrong.

Weekends before Christmas, especially when it occurs so early in the week, tend to be relatively quiet at the destination spots. The local hills in Ct might be pretty packed where as Southern Vt areas relatively quiet with obviously better terrain available.

Most of Vermont looks like a neutron bomb hit the weekend before Xmas. It's usually half the people of the weekend before. Tons of people have flatland social obligations and family things where they can't get north to ski.

Agreed. Even with all the snow in flatlander's backyards, the social obligations are a killer. I have to ski midweek this week because of weekend obligations. Life is tough, but someone's gotta get that pow before it gets all skidded off.

On the flip side for Mount Snow atleast, their kids Snow Camp program is already COMPLETELY sold out for the entire X-mas week starting 12/22(I listened to that message while on hold yesterday for about about 30 min). You'll likely see more folks on the hill this weekend with 3 to 5 day lift tickets attached to their coats trying to turn it into an x-mas ski week.

Might be a little busier than usual for the weekend before x-mas atleast on the 22nd between the storm last weekend, and a good weather forcast for Saturday and a more questionable weather forcast for Sunday.
