A lot of sarcasm going on in this forum lately.

That used to be a strong trait of dyed-in-wool New England Yankees. It was intended to be sarcastic humor. Maniacs think they have a monopoly on it, but I've met folks crawling out of the woods in Vermont who were up to par. They'd say it and never a hint of a smile would come through from the sender or receiver.

I used to be like that online (though not nearly as entrenched), until I realized that without LOLs or smilies, the comments were misinterpreted and a flame fest began. did you ever listen to Bert and I?

I haven't really gone to epic since joining here. I tend to like more local forums; you end up meeting people and discussing things that are a bit more local. (I really don't need any driving/route tips regarding Keystone, CO).

I kinda LOL'd that someone called this place kindergarden. It seems like there was some form of urinating contest over on Epic on a weekly basis: "Why Watea's are better than Monsters" "Eastern Skiers are better because of the ice" "Your boots should be 6 sizes smaller than your street shoe; or else you're not a real skier." Or my favorite: "You're a gaper".

This captures the essence of why i'm here more than @ Epic

I always felt like Epic skiers ARE really great skiers, focused almost exclusively on western skiing , They are helpful on gear questions seem to be nice but somewhat clique oriented .

IE if you aren't PSIA well then you're just a JV eastern skier ( Tongue in cheek) and an old dude who doesn't rip the gnar or

Whereas this site seems way more LIVELY, entertaining and is eastern oriented -- just my 2c OH BTW nobody here EVER busts your chops

What do you think this guy is trying to say about us?

I have a hard time getting worked up about this.

What you have is one guy stating his opinion on the internet. Other people have differing opinions. Doesn't that happen all the time?

But, for what it's worth, here's my opinion:

Epicski is a mostly boring conversation with a bunch of people who think they know more than they do, TGR is a shouting/pissing/dick size contest, and AlpineZone is a conversation like one you'd have in a bar after skiing.

Obviously that is a ridiculous generalization, and there are worthwile (and worthless) threads in all of these forums, but that is my general sense.

TGR, Alpinezone, and T4T are the top of the food chain, and are all equally radical in different ways.

Umm...well...I have one daughter in Kindergarten and one who is 2.5 y.o. who is the definition of terrible two's......So, dinner out with the family is a kindergarten play rehearsal for me!

2ndly....IMHO, I'm bored whenever I try and read Epic. I have met one person realtime from there who's quite a nice guy.....But I don't get caught up in negativity.......especially online...

Virtual skiing the only skiing I've seen lately- been in the AZ desert playing golf. The ski forum yapping has made me giggle.

Signed onto the PMTS forum last night....another full fledged assault on epic was in progress.
