Just Greg and I this afternoon for another fine rip at the Rez. Greg was almost on time so we managed to get rolling just before 4:30. The ride started off great with both of us clearing the first technical rocky climb before hitting the fence line. The rest of the climb up the ridge seemed to fly by and I felt much stronger/less winded than in recent attempts.
After the climb we really started to fly through the first few sections up on the ridge. Lot's of super clean riding with very few stops, basically just smoothly rolling from feature to feature, creating a ton a flow in the boneyard.
Just as we get through enjoying all the rollers and start heading for the first sweet DH, Greg goes down hard and bangs up a few body parts! Even though I was 100 yards or so down the trail ahead of him, I heard it and knew it was not going to be pretty. I turned around and rode back up the trail and consoled Greg as he walked things out a bit! I could tell he was experiencing some real pain. None the less after a few minutes Greg was back on the bike and riding, although somewhat cautiously. and kudos for riding passed that one and finishing the loop Greg!!!
Anyway, we finished up the lap without further incident and ended up back in the parking lot at 5:50 pm just prior to sunset and enjoyed a well deserved cold frosty beverage.
The loop came in at 8.6 miles with 1100 feet of climbing and was rolled in around an hour and 20 minutes. Great rip tonight Greg! !
