Do you actually read TR's or do you just look for pictures?

Personally, I just click on the TR scan all the way down, and if there are no pictures go right back. I rarely write anything since I figure most people have ADD and are just like me. If someone wants to know something they can just ask.

I've reduced the wordiness of my TRs quite a bit over the years. I used to give a trail-by-trail breakdown; now it's just some highlights of the conditions, and maybe a mention of a specific trail or two with an effort to capture the overall spirit of the day, especially if I skied with other AZers.

For others' TRs, it depends. If it's a place I ski at regularly, I typically read the whole thing. Same holds true if it's a place I'm going to in the near future to get a handle on what conditions to expect. I guess it really depends on venue. Early season I tend to read most of them until the frequency of the TRs increases. Mid-season when we see a lot of TRs there are likely several that I don't even click on. Still I think the TR forum is one of the most valuable parts of this message board.

I read them when they are about ski areas that I like to ski at or have some chance or desire to ski at. For those I like to have detail. If they are from mountains I care less about, I will often skim or not bother reading, unless it was after a great storm or I'm just dying for some skiing updates :)

If it's at a place I've been (or somewhere cool like out west), I'll read it without pictures because that way I will know what trails/locations/etc. they are talking about. Places like Killington or Stowe I could care less if there are no pictures because I have never been there, so words mean nothing haha. Powder days are exceptions though.

It depends on how many there are and where they are from. I usually skip to the pics myself, but if it's a place that I really want to know the details on I'll read the whole thing. If there's a ton of TR's I'll only look in the ones that interest me, or ones that have a bunch of replies and skip the rest altogether.

So pretty much what Greg and some of the others said.

If it's a place I've skied I read them, also if it's a place I hope to go to one day. Otherwise it's just pics.
