Date(s) Skied: April 2, 2011
Resort or Ski Area: Saddleback
Conditions: Powder / Wind Blown Powder
Trip Report: Rolled the dice on the winds and came up lucky at Saddleback. Twitter feed was saying Sugarloaf was on total wind hold early. Held our breath but the Rangeley and TBar were turning. Able to get early sweet tracks on Golden Smelt and P.Bell.
Great Powder runs all day. Kinda wind blown in spots, but you could power through it. Trees were mint. Really could not go wrong anywhere. Pretty windy, but the bonus was the Kennebago Quad opened at 11:30AM. Made turns up there all afternoon. All Runs were good, but I thought Dark Wizard and Nightmare skied really well - and it was fun playing with the drift mounds on muleskinner...
Saddleback keeps rolling weekends after Sunday... how long will they stay open?
Couple of pics:
Smelt Goodness
Muleskinner Fun
Drop into Dark Wizard. Best Glade of the day IMO...
