Resort or Ski Area: Saddleback Maine

Conditions: Mostly Packed Powder - Some Ice Natural Trails

Trip Report: Saddleback skied well today. Three main ways down from the Rangeley, Ghost, Coachman and Weaver. All skied nice. Natural trails were a bit of 'dust on crust' but what the hey. A bit of wait at the Rangeley but not outrageous. They are making snow on Tri-Color and Tight Line so the assault is on to the the Quad turning for the holiday week crowds.

I think I've skied Saddleback only half a dozen times but the conditions have been good every time. The base elevation plays a part, I assume.

Salsgang, what skis are you on in that video?

Hi Edd - I ski the Rossi Phantom 87's 178cm. I think this is my 4th season with them now. I have been very happy with the ski. Its kind of a jack of all trades ski. Good at everything but probably doesn't excel at any one thing.

Interestingly, I have never paid attention to my boots until this season. I was skiing a pair of Head boots but they were at least two sizes two big. Nice and warm but... I picked up some atomic hawx 90 boots that are actually sized correctly and what a difference! Feels like I have a new pair of skis on. My skis are much more responsive now that I actually have correct fitting boots.
