Dates Skied: March 8th-15th

Resort or Ski Area: Saddleback, ME

Conditions: Hard Pack in the AM/ Springlike in the PM

Trip Report: We planned a weeks vacation to Saddleback, ME a few months ago thinking the beginning of March would be a good gamble for some deep powder days. Well, instead of mid-winter conditions, we arrived to spring-lke temperatures and some seriously fast hard pack. Had no other choice but to make the best of it. I'll let the pictures/video tell the story..........

Needed a little help getting the fire started..........

Decided to make a little sacrifice to Ullr since the forecast for the trip showed no snow.........

Thanks for the pics. Too bad you missed some powder but like you said you made the best of it. Been kind of a dry march so far.

If you care to share - where was the hike? Above the Kennabago Quad?

No prob for the pics.......now if I can only get my video posted I'd be much happier!! Hahaha!!
Anyway, those pics were off of the top section of America. It's just a short hike off of the trail but it is completely hidden and makes a good place to take a break with a nice view.
You can also hike up past the Kennabago Quad to the AT and Saddlebacks "snowfields". The patrol is cool with it but we usually just give them a heads up anyway. It's really nice up there and there are a bunch of fun lines. Decided not to head up there this week though since conditions were pretty scratchy. Let me know if you want some pics. I've got a bunch from last time we hiked it.........here's one quick shot........

That's pretty sweet. Will have to hoof it up there next time we are up and conditions permit. Thanks for sharing. The video was fun to watch too...

Thanks guys! Yep.....Muleskinner is far lookers left.
Just got back from another day up there today. Conditions were really nice!! I guess they got a couple of inches in the past couple of days but it seems like the groomers have been hard at work cause the corduroy was really nice!!!! Definitely a fun little park day. Sun was shining for most of it too so it made the 0 degree wind chill feel a bit warmer!! I'll try to post a couple of more pics but I didn't really get anything great......
