OK...feeling it a bit today, but when we have snow, we MUST keep skiing. Got rolling around 10. Stopped for a Mobil station BEC sandi, rolled up over the Roxbury Gap and down into East Warren. Hey, it's snowing up there....

to the lot, skinning. A crust was evident. Breakable. Hiding several inches of dense powder. As I climbed, it disapated. By the time I got to the bottom of the real pitch (where the parking lots should be), it was essentially gone. Audiable, but not noticable under the skis. Up cliffs, and low and behold...the ski school was there. A bunch a racers downloading. Patrolers, mountain ops folks. Head down...keep skinning...must.......get....... to bravo. Snowing lightly bu mostly blowing. Snow has been moved around and drifted, firmed up. Bravo was extremelt variable, but skiied great. Tchnical sections wiith a narrow ribbon of drifted up snow down the right side...about half way down it filled in edge to edge and I let 'em run....out to the top of cliffs where patrolers were shutting down the lifts and getting ready to head out. I shuffled by them, felt their eyes on me....but I scooted thru quick and got over to the cutover to Tumbler before they could approach me. As I stopped for a minute to get my collective shit together to drop in, I looked back and saw them eyeing me from the top of cliffs. I went. Tumbler was great. Dense snow the ripped up in big, plate sized flakes, breaking aprt in my lap as i changed lead. Down thru the rolling terrain, cover was good. Predictable. Fun. As I cam e to the last steep there they were.....waiting....like a school of gold fish waiting for their daily dose of tettra flakes.....I skiied the last pitch and wrapped right trying to stay as far away as possible......
"how was it"
"Fantastic"
"Not Boney"
"Nah"
((out))
the flat-as-hell-why-is-the-lot-way-down-there-run-out kinda sucked. Breakable crust that was OK if you stayed agressive, the few times I tried to just run it out alpine I went OTB quick. All in all....place looked very near ready to open to me. Upper mountain definitly ready...Great coupla days up here and we are essentially caught up...when's the next storm???
On my way out thru east warren....it was still snowing. Milking it at SBN....good day.

I thought for sure you were going to say you got chased out of there. Glad you had a good hassle free time!

Not completely hassel free. Patrol stopped me just before I got to the top of Bravo. Told me they were sweeping and that now that he's seen me I needed to turn around. I said that no one has seen him see me. He then asked if I came up from the bottom...I said yes, basically to ski Bravo to Tumbler. He said the right side of Bravo was real nice...we chatted about Hinesburg Town Forrest, he told me he was gonna start teleing this year...he told me to be careful and head straight for Bravo...Off we went....as a comparison, at burk a coupla weeks ago we got "hey, how's it going!?!" with a big thumbs up.....ah well, at least the employees are cool, even if the company line sucks....still snowing...

A lot looser up North:

In true Jay Peak fashion we're expecting high winds again tomorrow so check back to confirm lift operations before heading to the hill (unless you plan on hiking which is just fine by us).

On this morning's report:

The winds are very high again this morning, which means the Jet Triple will be be on wind hold. We'll let you know when it opens. The t-bar will be open accessing Chalet Meadows. The ticket price for the t-bar will be $10. You can upgrade your ticket to the $39 adult or the $25 junior when the triple chair opens. You are always welcome to earn your turns and hike for some great powder skiing and riding.

Early december pretty much always delivers... let's all hope it stays that way all the way to January!
