Not sure if this belongs here, but for those who care. I just called sundown and asked if they were going to leave anything ungroomed and the woman said the closed nor'easter and are letting ski partol and the instructors bump it up today. i'm gonna sneak out tomorrow am before work and check it out. hopefully its worthwhile.

Thanks for the update. Let us know how they are! Greg and I were just wondering last night how they seed their bumps.

There were some nice lines forming last night on Nor'easter. Must be a tough job to be one of the guys that has to seed a bump run... ;)

just got back. they were machine made and the trail wasnt open. It hadnt been skied at all as a matter of fact. I ducked the rope, figuring i'd just ski it till i got caught. 4th run down, ski patrol was sitting near the bottom and i just went up to him and asked him if he wanted my ticket. He said no, and asked me to ride back up with him to talk to the hill chief. Myself and the patroller who brought me to see him talked him into opening it. I have to say, it is interesting skiing those things before they have been formed. I took a couple knees to the chin but by the time i left around noon, i actually had started to cut a real nice line.

Are they side to side?

yup, but the (skiers) left was the tighter set up. It's nice to see them do this but gunbarrel would make a better choice by far. Or even temptor.

Agreed on all points. Apparently on Gunbarrel they are setting up race courses this season and Stinger's got the park so those two are out. Temptor with its double black rating would be an obvious choice, but as I understand it, the point of the bumps on Nor'easter (a blue) is to provide some bump learning terrain for ski school. The thinking is the double black rating of Temptor will freak out the students. Maybe they'll set up some more bumps on Temptor anyway for the experts. That would be sweet.

I'm REALLY tempted to take a half day tomorrow to try these out. Rain is in the forecast for Thursday and if that happens, I would bet they mow these all down. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and warm - great day for bumping. Anyone interested?

In any event, I applaud the mountain for doing this. I commented many times to Brian the other night how much I really like Sundown. Awesome scenery and decent terrain. It's truly a little hidden gem.

I'll likely opt for an afternoon thing if I go. They should be nice and soft by then...

I went to the mountain to pick up my phone Friday evening. The snow was starting to set up and we saw a few groomers head up the hill. My guess was they were going to mow down the bumps. On yesterday's snow report there was no mention of moguls, but on today's report, it says Nor'easter (with moguls). Curious whether they've been mowed down and rebuilt or simply left alone. If anyone's been up there this weekend, please report...

Yeah - keep me posted. Don't think I can swing tonight, but maybe another night this week or possibly Thursday pm. That sucks about that kid. Was it in the terrain park?

Be creative. I just sent my wife to the mall and I'm watching the kids this afternoon. Also offered to do the feedings tonight. You just need to sweeten the deal for her a bit.
