Have any of you Romeo’s ever axed a girl out on a ski date for a first date? In my single days I did a few times with mixed results. Of course if they already knew how to ski it always went well. The challenge was the girl that never skied before, you never know how that can play out.

No, but my wife does ski and that's one of the things that attracted me to her. No where near as whacky about it as me, but we did go on some ski trips while dating, and we are raising a skiing family.

My first date with Timmy was at Killington. After I followed him into the trees on my (3rd?) time on skis he decided to teach me how. It's been love ever since. Or at least, that's what he says to appease me.

In high school, I used to set up dates based on who I skied with on the school ski trips. Natural ice-breaker.

My first date with my wife was night skiing at Mount Tom back in 1985. She worked at the same place I did and when she told me she liked to ski, I asked her out. I figured it was a no lose situation, even if the "date" didn't work out I'd still have a good time skiing.
When I picked her up and she came to the door with Dynamic VR17s taller than she is, I said to myself "oh crap, she's probably a better skier than me." She was, and still is.
Great way to start the relationship, sharing things you love to do. I also introduced her to Cycling and she introduced me to Diving. She's an awesome cyclist and I'm a so/so diver.

I'm not Romeo, but have asked a few women out for ski dates and the experience like dating was a mixed bag.

One woman talked a good ski game and when she fell getting off of the lift at the summit of the mounatin and proceeded to fall every 20 feet, knew the day was doomed. She was a good sport, but that was it for us.

Typically it would be "I ski a little", the woman would be a lower intermediate and the dates would be pretty fun.

I did take a woman who said "I ski a little" to Jay Peak and when we got off the tram, I started to walk towards Vermonter and she asked "why not the Face Chutes?". She ripped on skis, but we didn't click romantically. I still ski with her once in awhile.

I met a girl on PASR last season. On our first date we had a conventional date and on the second date we skied at Sno mountain by Scranton..it was a fun date and there ended up being a third date. I ended up skiing with her at Blue and Camelback later in the season, but now we are just friends but I hope to ski with her more this season due to her enthusiasm.

Yup, few times, mixed results. Paid for a lesson for one girl and she had a panic attack...that relationship ended badly. Met my current girlfriend at SR, she rips and ended up moving back to MA with me. So like I said, mixed results.

One of our first dates was at Cannon, I was skeptical (as other posts have stated), because some past girlfriends/dates talked up skiing......... but really couldn't ski.

First runs were tearing down Avalanche and Polly's Folly, I've been keeping up ever since!

Since starting my "career" in the NH ski industry 15 years ago all of my romantic experiences, first, last or other have been at least skiing related. This includes numerous ski dates, one tubing date and a wide range of experiences. My wife and I have been together ten years (3 married) and while our first date was not on the slopes I did join her on the hill when she decided to try snowboarding. I practiced being patient along with side slipping and riding switch. I also accompanied her last winter when she resumed skiing for the first time in 8 years after her ACL surgery (a skiing related injury). This time I polished my patience and practiced my tele-turns.

Also, my parent's (mother and step father) first date was a ski trip to Cannon in 1972. They married on the Alpine Garden Trail in 1976 (in June, no snow).
