I had a dream last night I hiked up a snowless Sugarloaf and skied down on dirt and mud. As expected, my bases were all chewed up. Weird dream. What the hell does that mean?

It means you will be skiing the BEast no matter what this Friday. In all honesty I'm a wuss when it comes to thin cover. The conditions were probable doable with your perspective on rock skis. I did notice 2 gouges and a bunch of nice scratches. If I didn't take the last 3 Fridays off I would have loved to hit the BEast again this week.

I've had the last 3 Friday's off, and I'm planning on taking this one off too... ;)

You guys are killing me... The way the weather is shaping up I'd be better off getting out Friday as opposed to Saturday or Sunday.

Had to bring this one back up to share with you a couple dreams my dad had in the late 80s.

Story number 1:

As my parents lie sound asleep, out of the blue (and in his sleep) my dad (who had been working in the ski industry for over 10 years) begins to yell aloud: "STAND UP.... STAAAANNNNDDD UUUUPPPPP! STAND UP!!!!!!" Of course, my mom jumps out of bed worried beyond reason wondering what on earth was going on. She frantically asks, "What's wrong, what is it?" to which my half-asleep, dazed father replies, "Oh... sorry. I was loading the T-bar and the guy was sitting down so low he almost fell off. Good night...."

Story 2, in the same vain:

My parents' bed had a headboard with curvy designs made of thin-diameter brass rods, wide enough to fit your arms in, but pretty tight. One night my dad wakes up from a dream only to find his arm asleep. He saw it stuck in the headboard, lodged between a couple of the brass rods. My mom wakes up and asks him how on earth he got his arm stuck in the headboard. His response: "I was loading chairs......."

:D

Had a dream last night that I was on the SRT at Killington (Ok... it was actually running so we know this will never come true ;)) and it had a bunch of sharp turns instead of just one and it was in a tunnel. I don't remember actually skiing in the dream though. I don't really have many ski dreams this time of year but by July or August I'll have one like every night haha.

I usually only get ski dreams right after coming back from skiing. In them I got my googles on and I just keep going. It not so much that I am skiing it is everything is passing by me like it does when I am skiing in. The dreams really are more about the motion and look of things wizzing by me like ti does when you are going downhill fast.

They are usually pretty cool dreams and I miss them during the summer.

I had a dream last night that I was at Jiminy and the entire mountain (while devoid of snow) was covered in a layer of thick, glossy, transparent ice. People were sliding all over the place with absolutely NO control whatsoever... but we all kept "trying" to ski anyway... quite bizaar.

I had a dream that I was at mammoth mountain with my friend, and we saw this sweet sweet trail from chair 9 so we decided to hike up there. We get to the top and my friend breaks out his camera and tapes me ski down this long steep narrow chute. I get to the bottom and he wants me to tape him, so he slides the camera to me, which goes wayyyyy too fast and wide right and by me and ends up in rocks. Despite us searching for it for over 30 minutes, we never found it. O wait a minute, that wasn't a dream, that really happened......

I haven't had a ski dream since I was a little kid. But I was skiing at loon and i got off the lift and went on the ONLY TRAIL AVAILABLE, which was under the very chairlift I rode up. It was wide, but crazy steep, so steep that the back of the chairlift was almost touching the haul rope. I then woke up and realized it must have been a dream, cuz loon doesn't have anything challenging.....

Had an odd one last night. I dreamed I organized an early season ski sale. It was pretty successful and I scored a couple pair myself. Maybe that was my motivation for organizing? No actual skiing, so does this count as a ski dream?

In my ski dreams sometimes I’m at WF or out West and suddenly the trail is a Hunter Mt. trail or the mountain turns into Hunter and I’m skiing there instead of where the dream started out. I guess my subconscious takes me back to my roots.

I used to have this dream where I did the never ending 360. Last night I had one where I wrote a letter about Hunter's lack of intermediate moguls; got blasted out of bed by my son waking me up for school at 5:50am.
