I'll have to figure out a way to scan them...don't own a digital camera.

In particular, I've got shots of me in Las Lenas almost identical to the first shot awf posted, without the weird brown tint.

Got some from heliskiing in Portillo just like the 4th shot.

Ski Magazine

OK...I feel a little better. SKI magazine came today. BTW I looked at some of those picture threads. I could almost feel the powder under my boards just looking at those beautiful western scenes. I have stood in the exact spot where the shot of the Alta base area was taken, and I have made many of the runs where the other shots were made also. I just can't wait to move there next year!

I was treated to two copies of SKIING when I got home. Somehow I managed to get two subscriptions last year, one is the wrong name though. I haven't had much of a chance to look through them yet though.. :(

I bought Ski yesterday, but had to hide it from myself so I have something to read on the flight to Montana tomorrow.

And yes, I did consider bringing skis and looking for some snow (it's still around up there). Since we make 3 stops on the way there and back, though, I don't want to risk losing them.

ctenidae..smart move; not bringing your skiis. I try very hard to minimize plane changes when traveling with my gear. Besides getting lost, the baggage gorillas just love tossing stuff. The less tossing the better! If you find snow where you are going, just rent. I bet you can make a great deal at some shop that has skiis sitting idle collecting dust!

Ski Tube

Sorry I got off topic here. highpeaksdrifter thanks for the heads up on the SportTube, but I have had one (the single ski model) for about 4 or 5 years. I bought one for myself and my son and we use it mainly when we travel by air. I also made up a special pin with a clip arrangement that allows baggage checkers access but closes back up securely when they are done. This was before the manufacturer came up with his own design. I usually take along a spare set of poles in case of breakage or (yes, it has happened to me) theft.
